    Kristen Barnett

    Cornell University, Dyson School, B.S. Applied Economics and Management, ’15

    Kristen Barnett is a senior at Cornell University studying Applied Economics and Management with a focus on International Development. She has served as President of Mountains for Moms, a student group that raises money and awareness for women with obstetric fistula by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, and co-founded the Dyson Symposium on Women in Leadership. Currently, Kristen serves as President of her business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and advises the current executive board of Mountains for Moms, as well as many other younger students on campus. She has interned for a non-profit in Cusco, Peru doing business development, followed by a summer at Barclays doing Sales and Trading. Most recently, Kristen interned at the NYC office of Boston Consulting Group, where she will be returning after graduation for full-time.

    George Washington University: The Elliott School of International Affairs, B.A. Middle East Studies, ’14

    Olivia Bee graduated from The Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University in the spring of 2014 with a B.A. in Middle East Studies and a double minor in Religion and Arabic. She currently works as a political fundraiser for Members of Congress in Washington, DC. She is a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon: Professional Foreign Service Sorority and has held internships in the U.S. Senate and the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights among numerous other opportunities. After spending significant time in Jordan, Israel, and Palestine, she hopes to pursue a career in a Jerusalem promoting conflict resolution via interfaith dialogue.

    Sophie Beshar

    Stanford University, B.S. Management Science & Engineering, '19

    Sophie Beshar is a sophomore at Stanford University, where she is planning on studying Management Science & Engineering. During the school year, she works as a part-time intern at WomenCount, a non-profit crowdfunding startup that aims to increase female presence in politics. On campus, she is a member of Stanford in Government and the club lacrosse team. From June to August 2016, she interned for Hillary For America in the travel operations team. While her past experiences skew toward the political sphere, she is very also interested in business technology and hopes to one day live abroad.

    Alessandra Biaggi

    Alessandra Biaggi is a graduate of Fordham Law School, where she served as a member of the Fordham Law Review and co-chair of the Law Review’s Academic Action Committee. With a strong interest and faith in empowering women through legal and political processes, she attended the Women’s Campaign School at Yale Law School to guide her pursuit of a career in public policy and politics. Alessandra has interned for Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-NY), the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, and was an editor for the Presidential Succession Clinic at the Feerick Center for Social Justice. She was recently appointed as the Assistant General Counsel for the NYS Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery.

    Eilis Bacon-Blaber is a sophomore at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. She is concentrating in Finance with a minor in Philosophy, and will graduate in 2018. Eilis is very passionate about increasing female participation in the finance industry; outside of class, she is involved with Women in Business and Smart Woman Securities, a club that aims to educate and empower women in finance and securities. Last year, Eilis interned with the Boston-based startup company, Luvo Learn. She currently works at her school’s library. In her spare time, Eilis loves to run, ski, bike, play tennis, and read.

    Molly Carroll

    Molly is a senior at the University of Delaware studying political science, journalism and women studies. She has studied abroad in Rio De Janeiro researching the effects on tourism regarding the 2016 Summer Olympic.  Her previous internships include interning for the Criminal Section of the Office of the Attorney in Washington DC and working as the lifestyle intern for HGTV magazine in New York City. Molly is also the President and Founder of The Nextworking Club, which is the first female networking club at the University if Delaware. Molly is also a contributing writer to her school newspaper The Review, and is a skimm’bassador for the newsletter theSkimm. She is preparing to attend law school next fall.

  • Jamie Ehrlich

    Jamie Ehrlich

    The University of Chicago '18 B.A. Political Science

    Jamie is a second year at the University of Chicago, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Human Rights. At UChicago, she is involved with the Model United Nations Team, the Institute of Politics led by David Axelrod, UChicago Students for Hillary, and serves as the chair for the Student Government Committee on Campus Sustainability. Off campus, Jamie is interested in furthering female involvement in politics — she has worked on the Senate campaigns of both Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (D-IL). She spent last summer in the United States Senate interning for Senator Warren, and feels fortunate to have so many amazing female role models in her life. Following her time at UChicago, Jamie hopes to some day be that role model for other young women like her.

    SUNY Geneseo, English Literature

    Hannah Embry majors in English Literature, minors in Gender Studies, and Black Studies at SUNY Geneseo. She works towards exercising intersectional feminism (thanks Kimberlé Crenshaw). She created a support group for survivors of sexual assault and rape on the Geneseo campus. She is training to teach yoga and works towards decolonizing western practices and spreading trauma-informed yoga as a tool for self-care.

    Sydney Farrell is a freshman student at the University in Vermont, pursuing a degree in early childhood education. She is a writer for her campus’s chapter on “HerCampus”, and is passionate about bringing awareness towards the issue of sexual abuse, especially with college students. Sydney volunteers at a homeless shelter in Burlington once a week to spend some time with the children, and plans on becoming a early childhood educator. She also plans to study abroad in New Zealand the spring of her junior year.

    Emily is a sophomore at American University in Washington, DC studying Law and Society with a minor in Psychology. She is also a member of the social sorority, Alpha Epsilon Phi and has served as Heritage Chair. She is also a part of AU Students for Israel as well as writer for AU’s chapter of The Odyssey. She is also a part of a sexual assault working group on campus which helps promote education and awareness of the severity of such topic. Emily is planning on studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland in the Spring of 2017 and has the ultimate dream of becoming a lawyer in the future.

    Liz is a current sophomore at Bucknell University studying International Relations with minors in French and Vocal Performance. She is the current Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Service for her school’s Panhellenic Council, where she organizes large fundraising events for the greater community and oversees the individual philanthropic efforts of each sorority chapter. Liz also works as a Student Development Officer for the University, and is an enthusiastic member of Bucknell’s Women in Finance club and the Bison Girls Dance Team. She hopes to pursue a career in International Business, and takes particular interest in the way that technology continues to play a role in international affairs.

    Zoe will be graduating in Spring 2016 from Emory University. She is majoring in International Studies with a concentration in Political Economy and a minor in Economics. Zoe is passionate about women in business and has shadowed several entrepreneurs in her various internships over the last few years. One of Zoe’s goals is to better understand the challenges facing women in business today and to work with organizations that will provide guidance to young women as they navigate their careers. Zoe is also passionate about women and fitness and is currently working part-time at a fitness center Orange Theory Fitness where she can act as a resource for young women in the area of health and fitness. Zoe is planning to pursue an MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship upon completion of her studies at Emory. She is also a member of Black Student Alliance at Emory.

    Lima Hossain is a Junior at Ithaca College (IC) studying Mathematics and Economics with an Outdoor Pursuits minor. She currently serves as a Student Director for the Alumni Board of Directors (AABD) at IC. As a Student Director her work primarily focuses on institutional advancement for diversity and inclusion on campus. She also serves as the Vice President for South Asian Students Society (SASS) and is an active member of the Leadership Scholars Program. Lima will be presenting her research paper on Price Elasticity of Demand for the Town of Ithaca to the New York State Economics Association later this fall. In her free time she enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, and Bollywood dancing.

    Shaireen currently resides in Washington DC, where she works in Hotel Asset Management at The JBG Companies after graduating from NYU in May 2015. In her spare time, she likes to travel, explore the city, and everything about food culture. Shaireen is passionate about equality of women in all aspects of life, especially in the workforce.

    Sarah Kingsley is a sophomore at the University of Rochester. She plans to graduate with a double major in Computer Science and Studio Arts with a minor in Business. At the University, she partakes in a student run theatre company, TOOP, as well as she is a member of the D’lion club that lives with and engages freshman students within the community. After college she hopes to pursue a career in software and website design.

    Nia Lucas, a sophomore at Emory University, is a premedical student studying biology with a minor in global health. She currently serves as the Vice President of the African and Caribbean Student’s Union. Additionally, she is the Public Relations Chair of the Oxford Biological Society and is also on the executive board of the Catholic Student’s Union. She is a member of Alpha Epsilon Upsilon, a prestigious honors society on campus. She is very passionate about promoting a cohesive community and is an active volunteer. She is looking forward to helping teach immigrant women how to speak English next semester. Nia plans to work to promote more active involvement of women and minorities in the medical field.

    Kathryn Moos graduated with a double major in Community Health and Sociology while playing Division I soccer and hockey at Brown. An All-American selection and Captain of the Women’s Soccer team her senior year, Kathryn went on to play professional soccer for Breidablik Futbol Club in Iceland.

    Kathryn is the Founder and CEO of VROU, a Women’s Health company. VROU is dedicated to improving Women’s health through convenient, effective, and reliable nutrition products that target major voids within Women’s nutrition. VROU is passionate about building a community that empowers Women and inspires health.

  • Alanah Rafferty

    Alanah Rafferty

    Marymount Manhattan College, B.A. Communication Arts, Philosophy, '14

    Alanah Rafferty is an actor and filmmaker who graduated from Marymount Manhattan College, Magna Cum Laude, in 2014, with a degree in Communication Arts and Philosophy. Her main focuses of study were creative media, religious ethics, and the philosophy of political and social justice. In January of 2014, she studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she studied Language and Latin American Culture. Along with her Film and TV acting work, she interned for Working Pictures, Monica Bill Barnes and Co, and was a Production Assistant on the BBC show, Doctor Who.
    She currently is a Development Assistant at Durga Entertainment, a production company who’s mission is to “champion filmmakers…that provide specific, diverse and insightful reflections on contemporary America.” She continues to act, write and direct, and enjoys kickboxing and cooking.

    Norah Senftleber is currently a freshman at Middlebury College. She has yet to declare her major, but has a strong interest in political science, Spanish, and gender studies, and hopes to pursue a major in one of these fields. She is a member of the women’s basketball team, and is also an employee at Crossroads Cafe, the only completely student run business on campus. Additionally, she is a certified member of the Green Dot violence prevention project at Middlebury College.

    Alana is currently a Junior at Cornell University, where she is pursuing a major in Performing and Media Arts with a concentration in Films Studies along with a minor in Fine Arts. She is a news anchor and editor for the Cornell Daily Sun’s Multimedia team, where she creates content to engage the Cornell Community. She is also a member of Kappa Delta where she has served as Social Media Chair, Photographer and is currently the Assistant to Public Relations. After college she hopes to pursue a career in filmmaking.

    Stephanie is currently a Sophomore at New York University, where she is pursuing a major in media and cultural studies along with a cross-school minor called the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. She is also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha where she has served as Sisterhood Chair and will be the Philanthropy Chair for the upcoming year. Stephanie has held many internships including ones at Raker Goldstein & Co., ODA Public Relationship and, most recently, in the fashion department of Krupp Group Communications. Looking to the future, Stephanie hopes to pursue a career in public relations, hoping to one day own a firm of her own that specializes in beauty, fashion, and lifestyle brands.
