I guess it was a good opportunity to write this tract, and I agree with most of it. However, I see Romney's photo as another sad narrow stricture on the male of the species to produce the vision of the strong virile male, able to handle all things. We trot these photo ops out every election. Surely you remember Obama's sprint through the sand, almost the exact reenactment of Kennedy's, and his hoops. Reagan on horseback, reinforcing his cowboy image. Then, of course there are the Roosevelt photos sans crutches.

It's really a comment on disability, limitation, self involvement, and false belief. Women are only incidentally involved. Those photos are meant for other men.

I don't see this problem in my local news casts (Seattle) but it is a major problem in the national news which originates from the east coast. My state has a woman Governor (not our first) and two woman Senators and none of them are legacies. Our state supreme court has half women judges. I have heard that people laugh at how folks from the Northwest dress so I guess it is clear that fashionizing anything is not the way to sell it here.

The problem with the Corporate Media is that it does not exist in a free market and it does not reflect our culture (possibly it reflects the east coast culture where it originates, I wouldn't know). We do not have consumer rights relative to Corporate Media. You want cable for better reception, you take the "one size fits all men" cable bundle, case closed. So there is no way to hold Corporate Media responsible for their unhinged misogyny. Wouldn't you love to be able to call up and say "I am sick of your misogynist BS remove XYZ channels from my home I refuse to subsidize this crap with my cable payment"? Go to the following website to see how much your cable bill would be if you had consumer rights relative to Corporate Media. My bill would be $13.50 a month.

Well written and spot-on. (A couple of the links seem to be broken, or else they don't work on mobile. Specifically, the one on HRC's cleavage and the missrepresentation.com piece. Hopefully they can be fixed easily. Still, the points came through loud and clear.) Thanks!
