A bit of TNA herstory:

3 years ago today, I gave a speech at a rally in Washington DC organized around the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting.

I remember how angry and hurt I felt about the way Hillary Clinton had been treated by the media, and the DNC’s silence and therefore, in my mind complicity, to overt sexism.

It was a time of awakening for millions around the country to the notion of sexism, and the need for change. Months later, in August 2008, we founded The New Agenda and vowed never be silent again.  And we have lived up to that promise!

I’m proud that we have done so much since then. Not only to raise awareness and educate the country on sexism; but also, to revolutionize women’s advocacy by demanding that women’s group defend women leaders of BOTH parties. We were the first there too.

Congrats TNA! Join us…we’re just getting warmed up!!!

Exactly right Amy. To paraphrase the Big Dawg, “It’s the sexism, stupid.” I left the Democratic Party in May 2008, and still have solicitors calling asking for money. I refuse to be complicit in my own abuse. If the Democratic party does not believe that people with my packaging are not bright enough to run the country, it should not count on my vote or my resources.

If they want us back, they should consider removing the “women need not apply sign from the White House,” stop throwing women and their issues under the bus, and start talking to us and not at us.

I also am a lifelong Democrat, but feel the party has left me. I am not so sure the Democratic party is so pro women anymore as Debbie Wasserman Schultz claims. I hear the DOJ under Holder is not going after pornograghy as much as the previous administration. It is also very sad that the latest movie in liberal Hollywood that is all the rage is Hangover 2, a movie about how a bunch of guys cheat on their wives in Vegas, and it is considered funny.
