The cycle continues.

Our media has once again managed to stir the embers of hatred.

The New Agenda has been very careful NOT to bring politics into the Arizona shooting.  Why?  Because, as of today, there is not a single iota of evidence that politics played a role in the actions of a clearly mentally disturbed man.

Now things have shifted, thanks to our media.  Now politics does play a role.  Sarah Palin and her family are getting death threats.  This time, blame can be assigned.  Outlets like The Huffington Post, The New York Times and Keith Olbermann on MSNBC have very clearly and blatantly tried to place blame for the Arizona shooting on Sarah Palin.

You can see below the result here:

I’d ask that we all take a collective pause and witness what is happening here. The New Agenda is devoted to finding common ground. Not hate or divisiveness, but common ground.

Hatred sells, but we’re not buying it!!!

I suggest a way you all can respond to Liberal/Progressive attempts to blame Palin for a deranged man is by canceling your cable subscription. Go with Netflix which is far cheaper and watch only the shows you care to watch. Stop subsidizing these media whack jobs with your basic cable payment. Let these sexist media people yap and incite themselves and their programs into oblivion.

Its true. I know a lot of left leaning people and their fb statuses are all full of Sarah blaming posts. These are the same people who participate or turn a blind eye to the left’s hateful response to all things Pain. They are too dense to realize they are part of the political atmosphere which is creating the hateful climate that these same people claim has caused this nut to resort to violence. I hope our country can learn some lessons but when I see things like this, it makes me have my doubts. People are so stuck in their ways.

I sincerely hope you are successful with that. But I suspect the only language the men who own and run media speak is money. I doubt they can process language so it will be impossible to talk with them and talking at them will not work. They do understand money so depriving them of it is likely the only form of communication that will work.

I have a sincere question. When the rest of you scan through those tweets, do you see calls for violence or attempts to make someone shut up?

    Or a combination of both?

  • Amy Siskind (author) said:

Combination – passive aggression (cancer) or outright calls for violence. Lots of gender basing (bitch, cunt, etc.).

I see a lot of gender bashing also on the tweets, and general public comments today regarding Palin’s video response. On one web site the very first comment I saw was “someone needs to put a d_ck in her mouth so she will shut up”. I don’t mean duck either…..

I actually reported that as abusive, probably won’t get noticed.

By the way, No Quarter did an excellent post today on the Palin bashing. Amy – maybe you can cross reference this???

    January 12, 2011 at 3:37 pm
  • BevWKY said:

That’s what I was thinking also.

What caught my attention today after seeing those tweets yesterday is post just up on C4P about Palin’s use of the phrase “blood libel” in her Facebook note/video today, partly because it’s not a phrase I’m personally all that familiar with:

    Partners In Blood
    http://conservatives4palin.com.....blood.html

Whatever the scenario, the chain of events were the same. The Jews were accused of a murder, followed by calls for their deaths, followed by riots and then killings of all the Jews. At all time when the Jews spoke up and defended themselves, they were told to sit down and shut up and further killings took place just for that reason alone.

But this time it was different; this time it felt as if all those stories I was told as a kid were coming to life. A heartless murderer shot and killed innocent victims. Governor Palin, who is hated just because she exists, was blamed, and that was followed by a flood of calls for her death on Twitter and Facebook. If this isn’t a blood libel than nothing is.

A combination of violence and attempts to make someone or a group of someones shut up. If you get a chance, go read the rest. It’s an interesting read.

There has to be some sane Liberal/Progressives remaining and I do feel bad for them that their Democrat party has been taken over by rabid misogyny. I remember in Psych class they had this thing called a “behavior extinguishing curve” and that the objectionable behavior was at it’s absolute worst right before it was eliminated altogether. So I really hope this is the last pathetic gasp of the deranged Democrat misogynists, in media and in the Democrat party.

Olbermann is the media equivalent of a wife-beater. Apparently, his employers value him for exactly that reason since his excursions into abusive behavior are ongoing and rewarded. I’m not sure we can find a “common ground” given this kind of entrenched hatred and current levels of brainwashing and propaganda.

Well, don’t think it’s all on the left. I get a strange feeling in my gut every time I see someone, supposedly a so-called conservative, post that they wouldn’t/couldn’t vote for Palin, but they’re quite happy to have her out there “providing cover” for the rest of the GOP. So, I guess she’s just supposed to go back to the kitchen after the real “fighting” is over? Or before? Maybe during?

    Not likely.

what about an email campaign to our representatives asking to give Palin protection. as evidence this site. Obama got protection very early on during the primary way before he was considered a likely winner and Hillary had it as first lady. the 2008 campaign invigorated everyone hating powerful women, female political leaders. and currently Palin is number one on their list. calling it Palin derangement syndrome is not helping her.

i think right now quite many lawmakers and judges are concerned to become victims.

    January 12, 2011 at 5:56 pm
  • Bes said:

Well I know that lawmakers and Judges are concerned and I don’t blame them but frankly more average people got shot up and killed in this than Congress members and Judges. Sure they can protect themselves but they need to dial down the blather on both sides to make all of us more safe.

BevWKY: I hope many people copy this video before it disappears, It will make great campaign material in the next election. But this isn’t as shocking as the behavior of the “News” networks who have been giving voice to those with Palin Derangement Syndrome. They have lost all credibility with their terrible reporting on this tragedy and by allowing the unbalanced to blame Palin for the behavior of a insane man. They are pretty much on the level with Jerry Springer at this point. That said I can’t wait to get home and watch the foaming at the mouth. Palin has completely trumped Obama’s speech and she didn’t even need the Corporate Media to run her comments, all she had to do was post them!

In the aftermath of the President’s speech in AZ, here’s to finding common ground. When we disagree, I hope we can do it peacefully and respectfully. When we advocate for our causes, I hope we can do it passionately, but without hatred. And we can together hold the media accountable for extreme rhetoric and dangerous vitriol.

I must say that I am extremely disappointed with both Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden who I support strongly in the past back when I was a democrat (God forgive me). I held both of them in high esteem because I believed that they were dedicated to standing strong against violence aimed at women. Now that they are part of the Obama administration so much has changed and I can no longer stomach the party I once so strongly supported. They need to speak up!
All hatred of Sarah palin is completely irrational. Congresswoman Giffords loved Fox News and was on it regulary. Fox News was also a fan of her because she is a common sence and very conservative democrat who in her last interview with Fox said that our national dept was the greatest treat to our nations security. Bill Hemmer responded to this by saying she sounded like a republican, she told him I once was a republican. I disagree that Jared Lee Laughner was not political. He according to his classmates was left leaning and very liberal, but I do not use that bit of factual information to indict others with similar political views because I, unlike the pundits at the N.Y. Times, MSNBC, CNN ABC and all the Obama media at large, HAVE A BRAIN!
More violent imagery has been used to intimidate and defeat Palin then has ever been used in our nations history except maybe for the imagery used against former president George W. Bush. Palin was forsed out of office by 16 bogus ethics charges orchestrated by the Chicago MAFIA and she has a sick twisted stalker living in the home next to hers. I have never been so ashamed of my fellow Americans for hating this decent hard working, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and Patriot who has more respect for life than any on I know on the left. I am sorry to make this about politics, but it is. What we have been witnessing since Palin came on the scene, a year after Laughner started becoming obsessed with Rep. Giffords, is the Chicage way, Alinsky tactics. We were traumatized by those tactics when we supported Hillary in the primary and it continues to get worse. It must be stopped and we must be the ones to stop it.
Bill Mahur was on Jay Leno last night and he completely boombed. His exploitative retoric was received with auchward silence, this in California! People are seeing how dispictable his type of hatred is.
Today I learned that the judge who was killed in AZ was appointed by John McCain and George W. Bush. The Palin haters create their own twisted reality then proceed to propagandize the sheepish Americans who love to hate Palin simply because it is cool.
I’ll end this very long comment here but I hope it will be posted in full.

I will be showing my support for Governor Palin proudly. I have a tee-shir that my nieces gave me last Christmas which has Palin’s face on Mount Rushmore. My bumper sticker that reads -I don’t believe liberal media lies is going on my car as soon as I get it washed. My former party finded itself in a hole and just keeps on digging. It’s going to turn around and bite them on the ass-which is a very appropriate symbol for the democrat party these days.

Have you all noticed this. In Misogyny Land where most Liberal/Progressive men and all Media men live, violent or critical speech against Black Men absolutely causes violence against Black Men. Violent speech or even critical speech of Jews absolutely causes violence against Jewish men. However it is stupid to think violent speech against women causes any problem for women and violent pornography is a sacred right of the first amendment and if it is stopped all free speech will end. I am sick of this crap and before I ever vote Democrat again the party as a whole is going to have to renounce a large part of their misogynist catechism. It is completely unhinged to accuse Palin of responsibility for the Arizona tragedy and yet this morning I still see pious Democrats doing that. I don’t see any authority from the party walking they Misogynist hysteria back. It is truly stunning and disgusting. I think the word Blood Libel was perfectly chosen.

    January 13, 2011 at 10:17 am

And here is another thing that irritates me. Did Jews copyright the word Blood Libel or something? Does every one else need permission to use this word even if they use it correctly and if so who do they ask for permission? Are there other words that Jews own and no one else can use and if so how are we supposed to get a list of these? Oh and do other religions own other words in the English language? Maybe Misogynist Corporate Media should busy themselves with giving us all a list of all the forbidden words. Of course we can all rest assured that Cunt, Whore and Bitch are on the approved list.

Heck, I have yet to see (or hear of) any authority from the Republicans defending her. Or anyone else. It’s truly getting old when the women has to stand her ground against them all.

Was that a violent metaphor? (Ya know, I really don’t care.)

    Anyhoo, Amy said:

This may not be extreme or dangerous, I honestly do not know, but I have to say that my jaw about hit the floor yesterday when a left-leaning pundit tried to say that Palin needed to apologize for using the Mama Grizzly imagery, even though she wasn’t to blame for what happened in Tucson. The FoxNEWS anchor didn’t let him get away with it but still. To even go there.

And they wonder why news papers are failing. Thankfully we have the internet so the media owners can no longer keep people from talking and writing about their opinions in a public place.
