Good. That was humiliating (for Behar, natch) and uncalled for.

    Amy,

That was not an apology. She is so stupid that she doesn’t even know its a sexist slur.

It absolutely is an act of contrition which I am quite sure she did 100% against her will. She’ll think twice next time – as will others in the media. The words “I’m sorry” are not necessary – she doesn’t have to eat sh*t publicly – I’m quite certain she’s been fed plenty privately!

Glad to see this. I emailed my complaint yesterday and I am sure many others did also.

Amy, have you read that Christine O’Donnell slander piece at the Gawker? Even Now came out to support her.

This is a sucess for The New Agenda, even if there was no real apology here. The more voices that are raised against the degradation of women the better. The “ladies” of The View are classless and juvenile. I would never refer to my female friends as bitches.
Why does the liberal left need so desparately to be percieved as cool? Time to grow up ladies and respect your fellow women.

Yes, we have a piece going up first thing in the morning.

Whoopi made it clear that she had no interest in being joy’s b*tch! Joy just has to go. She is so phony it makes me sick. She seems to see the problems with racial and ethnic slurs, but is too stupid to see the problems with sexist ones.

I also think its rather telling that a women in her 70′s still finds it necessary to expose her cleavage ad nauseum. She’s one of those women that Janis talks about that needs to be approved by the boyz. That’s why she thinks its cool to call other women b*tches and to flaunt her breasts.

Its pathetic that someone actually gave her her own show.

This is not an apology it is back peddling, walking it back, whatever DC slang you want to call it…but I call it BS. Bitch is not a term of endearment…she meant to call Angle what she did ,thrice. Bad press creates a back peddle. An apology is an act of contrition, repentance, and this crap from Joy was neither contrite nor an act of repentance in word, or spirit

Joy used humor to walk herself through a humiliating apology. She did say that she should have stuck with her initial points about Angle without calling her a bitch.

Success! It may seem like an insincere apology and it probably is. But it is very clear that she was forced to do this! Brava! Now others in the media may be afraid to use this word.

    This is HUGE!

It’s better than nothing. But I doubt others in the media will think twice about degrading women. They do not value the female audience and they have lost them. I no longer expect TV to entertain me I subconsciously plan on doing other things. It is “too late” for TV and Corporate Media does not understand the concept of “too late”.

I wonder what Oprah’s network will look like. It could be good although I don’t expect much, or it could just be the same old advertising venues punctuated every five minutes with tit and asspirational advertising. Remember Oxygen Network was supposed to be Oprah associated and it stinks so bad it is offensive. Corporate Media has no qualms putting up a channel where empowerfulated women prance around in lingerie and calling it “women’s content” but they would never put up a channel where a bunch of people in black face act like idiots and label that “black content”. Corporate Media just has absolutely zero respect for real women. I would like to see a real “women’s channel” that functions in a free market as opposed to the fake ones that are propped up by corporate men who want advertising venues where their male designed ads can reach women.

    Good for Oprah.

As far as JOY BEHAR her conduct is inexcusable. She did not apologize at any level. “B..tch is a term of endearment.”

Really Joy ? When the first lady next visits the View will you be calling her that name ?

No because it is degrading hate speech and no woman should be called it whether we agree or disagree with their politics.

It is what predatory men beating up their female victims call them. It gives permission to dehumanize all women and fuels violence.

I agree….it was not a real apology…it was a forced speech and “excuse” for that classless response….she has no business on ANY television show if she can’t control herself…or maybe she would fit right in on an episode of WWE!! And oh by the way Joy….illegal aliens won’t be voting for Angle because in case you didn’t realize it…..they aren’t citizens and CAN’T VOTE!!!!! (at least legally)…who knows maybe they could help her get a job in construction!
