Jerry Brown’s Contempt for Women (& CA-NOW’s Endorsement) UPDATED!
October 9, 2010
by Anna Belle Pfau
|UPDATE: Politico is reporting that Jerry Brown also has questioned the effectiveness of mammogram testing. Check out the video for another clear example of how Jerry Brown tramples upon and tries to dominate women. His treatment of Susan Estrich in the clip is appalling. This is the man CA-NOW endorsed, over the woman?

The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
George Allen’s “macaca moment.” Howard Dean’s scream. Jerry Brown’s campaign using the w-word against Meg Whitman. This is the stuff campaign meltdowns are made of, and Governor Moonbeam has stepped in it big-time.
It started with a recording that came to light in which Jerry Brown’s campaign called Meg Whitman a “whore.” The use of such sexually derogatory terminology on the campaign trail, even in private, is beyond the pale of what is acceptable discourse. Inexplicably, the day after the story broke the National Organization for Women’s California chapter offered Brown its endorsement. This is an astounding and confounding turn of events in the eyes of many women.
There are two issues here: Jerry Brown’s demonstrable contempt for women and CA-NOW’s endorsement. We’ll get to both of them, but Brown’s record is far and away the real story here, and it hasn’t been covered in the media, so we’ll start there. Jerry Brown’s issues with women go much deeper than his use of “salty language,” which he addressed in his apology to Meg Whitman, issued via a campaign spokesperson. His record throughout his career shows a lack of support for women and their issues, and he has been at times downright hostile to them.
For example, in his first stint as Governor of California, he showed contempt for mothers across the board. Not only did he threaten to starve poor women and children when he said “welfare mothers” would have to “tighten their belts,” he showed contempt for working mothers with this quote:
More women should be in the home, taking care of their children. Then we’d have fewer social problems. (Source)
Are there any such statements in Meg Whitman’s past? No, her life story demonstrates that she believes in working mothers. She is a working mother.
And then there’s Jerry Brown’s ever-shifting point of view on abortion. The New Agenda doesn’t take a stance on abortion, with good reason, but Jerry Brown does and so does Meg Whitman. So does NOW. All three are pro-choice, but only one of them was once publicly pro-life: Jerry Brown. In a rarely discussed chapter of his life in the late 1980s, ahead of his 1992 run for president, he claimed to have had a life-changing experience working with Mother Theresa, and changed his former support for abortion rights, claiming that:
[I see] the killing of the unborn as crazy.
Brown said at the time that working with the dying “gave me a different perspective on the whole question of abortion.” He also said that “this country and Europe see the need to kill so many unborn does not seem to be justified. It’s just that we’ve organized society to be anti-life.” He followed this rhetoric up with support for freeing Joan Elizabeth Andrews, who was convicted after storming an abortion clinic in which two employees were hurt and property was damaged.
His stance nearly cost him the state Democratic Party chairmanship in 1989, and he had a come-to-Jesus moment at the last minute. But that doesn’t mean he changed his mind; it meant he would say what he needed to get what he wanted. That’s just who Jerry Brown is. As Brown himself said at the time:
I am against abortion and I feel more strongly than ever about that,” he said. “But I also deeply respect the autonomy and integrity of each person and that means to me that you trust women to make these judgments on their own and not to call upon the coercive power of the state.
Bolding mine. Presumably that’s still his stance: personally pro-life; publicly pro-choice. The women he’s courting as voters support abortion rights overwhelmingly. Most of them don’t know this about Brown’s past, and one wonders what they would think if they did. Would they wonder if Jerry Brown can really be trusted on this issue?
Has Meg Whitman ever flip-flopped on her abortion stance? Not to my knowledge. Anyone?
So what gives, CA-NOW? According to their website, they exist to “advance the women & girls of California.” On national NOW’s website, “reproductive rights” rank high on the list of issues they support. Supporting women is their number one issue, however. So how is it that a group with those goals would endorse a personally pro-life male over a publicly pro-choice female?
Patty Bellasalma, CA-NOW’s president, said it was because, “[a]s Governor, Mayor, and Attorney General, Jerry Brown has promoted and defended women’s rights.” She didn’t elaborate. It’s worth pointing out that, as a business woman and CEO of eBay, as a working mother and as a candidate for governor, Meg Whitman promoted and defended her rights as a woman.
Jerry Brown’s record speaks for itself. He has not been a friend to women. Who can forget his attack on Hillary Clinton during a debate with Bill Clinton in 1992?
[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/tX6RUe_3nBU" width="425" height="344" allowfullscreen="true" fvars="fs=1" /]
Hillary Clinton wasn’t running for anything at the time. But his attack is a perfect example of how Jerry Brown views women, which is to say as props and tools to be exploited for political gain, perhaps even as collateral damage in his manic quest for power. He has learned over 40 years in politics that he can’t openly say what he thinks about women, or minorities for that matter. His record there is just as appalling and offensive. Here’s his chief of staff during his first term as governor, J. D. Lorenz, on his experience with Brown, which he detailed in his book, Jerry Brown: The Man on the White Horse:
[A]s Jerry said, “blacks [were] the wrong symbol in the 1970s.” Chicanos were OK – in late 1974, Jerry told Lorenz that he planned “to tilt towards the Mexican-Americans” – but blacks were bad, imagewise. Except blacks were useful in Jerry’s racist fantasy of an integrated work-camp for teenagers: “The black kids can teach the white kids how to fight and the white kids can teach the black kids how to read,” he mused.”
Recently this election has been all about Meg Whitman’s past. But it’s fair to look at Brown’s past too. In light of Jerry Brown’s questionable history with regard to women and minorities, a well-paid “undocumented worker” and a disgruntled former nanny with 2-months experience on the job seem quaint by compassion. I’m sure the voters of California would prefer to discuss more pressing issues, such as the economy and jobs, jobs, jobs. We’ll see if they get that chance ahead of November 2nd.

Great research. Why isn’t the media digging to find this story?
Good question, Amy. I think it’s because the Brown campaign has been misdirecting the media to Whitman’s past. He’s ruthless that way; always has been. He just is not honest, and projecting his inadequacies onto other people has been a lifelong modus operandi for him. He’s a phony, pure and simple.
Protecting the abuser is one of the symptoms of battered wives’ syndrome. CA-NOW has embraced that symptom and elevated to a political strategy. This is beyond sick and astonishing. I wish I could afford a full page ad in the LA Times using this post and comments of the previous thread to call out this travesty.
Ooo very interesting! Thanks. Well this bit of news should help MEG in California especially (I would think) Very interesting.
Excellent question Amy.
During my several years experience with the media, They go for what is fed to them. They hardly research any additional thing beyond the press release, and when they do, it’s just to fill the format of “I got this view, I need an additional one” whether this additional view really answers additional questions or not.
Readers, if you find this information useful or surprising, please help get it out there. E-mail it, tweet it, reddit, stumble it, post it to Facebook. Please help us get this info to go viral!
Good article, Anna Belle. I sent it to everyone I know.
Thanks, yttik. Here’s another interesting link I stumbled upon this morning: http://nogovernormoonbeam.blog.....-have.html
He’s just offensive in his use of language. Does California really want a Rahm Emmanual type as Gov? By which I mean a foul mouthed liar who works against the public interest and cynically exploits that public to enrich himself? Just to be perfectly clear.
Anna Belle,
This is great. I followed yttik over from Afrocity’s and though I don’t live in Cali, I know some people who do. I am forwarding this to them.
How much would a full page add in the LA Times cost? I would donate to the cause.
I also think that CA NOW and NOW in general needs to be called out loud and clear. Women are not being taken seriously as a voting block because a bunch of airhead dilettantes are allowed to call themselves the voice of feminism and talk for us. It is hard to get a message through to them however because they isolate them selves and only talk to each other. Since their focus is no longer women they need to be muscled into changing their name to something that reflects that change.
Brava, TNA & Anna Belle-was hoping you’d cover this ugly story.
Moonbeam-and NOW-must be stopped.
I love it — feminism is now all about slut-shaming and keeping women in the kitchen. We have truly come full circle.
If one off the record comment is going to send Meg Whitman and her camp into a tizzy, what will she do when it really hits the fan if she were elected. Grow up ladies. Gay men call each other whores all the time, do you object to that, too? By complaining about this you are either just using it to exploit your own side, regardless of the truth, or you are really naive about politics. Stop looking for reasons to be offended. If you listen to the tape it has been pointed out by others that it was a woman aide herself who said the word.
Poor Meg, boo hoo hoo.
Lord knows there are many things people can find to be offended about, but what you look for, you find. Why not look for the positive?
Nice hit piece. Perfectly out of context. So who do you work for? Who pays your byline?
Amy, please can you make the comments on here from sexist, clueless men go away? He’s just an illiterate troll trying to stir up trouble.
Excellent research, Anna Belle. I, too, would donate to a full page ad featuring your article.
Anna Belle great that you remember these stories and find the sources. will email and facebook. j and Martin can’t change our discussion. we are not about what gay men say to each other. we object to anyone calling women the W, the B and the C word. these words are words used during rape and violence against women, even when used against men they exemplify women hate.
Martin, I don’t care what gay men call each other in private I do care what women politicians are called and I don’t want to have elected officials who use derogatory sexual slurs to refer to women. And can we get that straight…the term “whore” is not “salty” language it is a derogatory sexual slur in the same league as fag or nigger which I feel uncomfortable even typing and I don’t want to hear any of these insults used by politicians. Democrats are typically sensitive to racial and gay slurs but feel misogyny is cool (“Sarah is a cunt” T-shirts come to mind). It repulses me. I can’t vote in California but I could donate to advertising. I also think NOW needs to be challenged, they no longer represent women and they haven’t in 20 years. If I don’t see an effort to put a full page ad in the LA Times in the next few days to send a donation to I will send Meg a contribution just like I sent one to O’Donnell when I saw the slam job she was getting from the elitist Corporate Media.
Interesting article on sexist slurs in the Daily Beast
http://www.thedailybeast.com/b.....l-women/2/
Great research Anna Belle! Democratic guys like Brown is why we get HCR that continues to erode abortion rights, even though they insist that they have women’s backs on the issue. These male pols who claim to be pro-choice, are the first to sell abortions right down the river as their very first negotiating chip to be offered up to their apponents. The truth is that they don’t support a woman’s right to choice and they clearly won’t fight for it in any meaningful way. They use the issue to garner women’s votes period.
I’ll take a republican women who says she’s pro-choice over a democratic male who claims to be any day of the week. Women have a vested interest in it in a way no man can, and therefore I would trust her commitment to it more.
I’ll take a Republican woman who says she’s anti-choice. Like Palin, most anti-choice women are a hell of a lot more understanding toward abortion than so-called pro-choice men are. Yes, there’s the occasional nutjob, but there’s always the occasional nutjob(s) in Congress, and I even want the nutjobs to be women. I want the whole damn thing to be women. Nylons as far as the eye can see.
Hey Martin, how do you feel about the word nigger sending the NAACP into a — what a charming word — “tizzy?” Black people use that word all the time, right?
Note that if we don’t asterisk out whore, then I’m not asterisking out ANY slur. If one bothers you more than the other, why is that?
Also Martin, if you don’t answer that question, I will, with the greatest cheerfulness, link to this post and ask it again every single time you show up.
Congratulations! You have pissed off the wrong person!
Janis,
This one’s for you:
“Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History…”
Thanks for being one of those women who recognizes this truth and may more and more women misbehave when it comes to stopping sexism and violence against women and taking our rightful place in society.
I feel like I am in Alice in Wonderland. Just watch the CBS Evening News, they discussed the Brown comments about Meg, but what was infuriating was the president of NOW CA said” Meg Whitman IS guilty of WHOREY Activity”, this from an organization whose first mission is to support women and girls…wow…up is down if NOW is pro woman.
Disgusting, If there are any real feminists in California they need to get out and picket the NOW headquarters. “NOW doesn’t represent me” signs would be appropriate I think. When I retire a few years from now I think I might travel around to protest outrages like this. Someone has to show up and do it. Actually the Whitman camp and the California Republicans should do it incognito.
Kathleen, I just wish it were enough. I have a sinking, ugly feeling that Brown will win, and that the worst is yet to come. With the mass destruction of Hillary’s presidential progress, things have only started to slide back. I would like to personally strangle every motherfucker who is responsible for it, because it’s going to reach its peak when I’m old and not in a good position to weather it.
I hope it’s better elsewhere in the world, but I’m not sure. I see a long, ugly loss of everything the 20th century brought us, and a lot of men who either flat-out LOVE it or could care less. And a lot of women who will love it while it happens to “that other bitch” but who will get a real ugly wakeup call when it washes up on their shores.
Bes,
Another gatekeeper for the patriarchy. Language matters!!! Its no different then someone using a racial slur to describe someone or some activity in a negative way. It’s as if someone said, “that’s a n***** thing to do”, to describe bad behavior. How well do you think that would have gone over? Surely someone would be fired.
I keep hearing these news men saying that because it was being used to make a disparaging analogy about cutting political deals, and not meant literally, its o.k.. It doesn’t even register with them why its offensive. It’s a pejoritive against women specificall. And to add insult to injury, it was being used against a woman.
Bellasalma should know better. Did she herself use the term Whorey? Do you have the clip? Please post it if you can.
I’m Sorry Bes, I meant Bruce.
Janis,
I should have asterisked the word W***** in my last post as well as well as the N word. Very good point.
Keep raising hell. I feel your fire.
Kendall Yes that was who was speaking- I saw it on the CBS nightly news tonight not on you tube, dont know if it is up in cyberspace or not, perhaps they will repeat it on the late night news?
Janis,
I hear ya. However, whenever I start to feel like it’s all for nothing, I remember Hillary’s historic and inspiring speech in June when she suspended her even more historic presidential race. After what she went through during that rude awakening of a primary, and then still be able to say and feel these words with conviction and passion, so can we:
“Always aim high, work hard, and care deeply about what you believe in. And, when you stumble, keep faith. And, when you’re knocked down, get right back up and never listen to anyone who says you can’t or shouldn’t go on.”
And remember this…
“If we can blast 50 women into space, we will someday launch a woman into the White House…”
You have to believe and never give up because the alternative is simply not an option.
Below was posted on Michelle Malkin’s site:
Jerry Brown Associate Calling Meg Whitman ‘Whore’ Has Effect on NOW Endorsement
And ironically that effect was to speed up the announcement of the National Organization for Women’s endorsement of Jerry Brown:
Jerry Brown announced he has received the endorsement of the National Organization for Women, less than 24 hours after the emergence of a recorded message in which Brown can be heard in a conversation with advisors in which someone calls Whitman a “whore.”
And the “Duh of the Day” from Whitman’s campaign manager:
“Meg Whitman is a pro-choice woman who was ranked among the world’s most accomplished women in business,” said Whitman campaign manager Jillian Hasner. “She’s now running to become the first woman governor in California’s history, and on the same day that it’s reported Jerry Brown’s campaign called her a ‘whore,’ the National Organization [for] Women endorses him. It’s official: NOW is a partisan organization.”
That wasn’t previously apparent. It’s all about politics — liberal politics. NOW even supported Bill Clinton in spite of his history of treating women like toy fire hydrants in the horndog kennel. In the ultimate slap, NOW later endorsed Barack Obama over Bill Clinton’s wife (maybe “what ‘strong’ woman would have put up with all that s*#t?” was part of the line of reasoning there).
Bruce,
N.O.W. did NOT endorse Obama over Hillary Clinton. They endorsed Hillary Clinton. There’s enough things that are true to complain about. You don’t have to makes things up.
kendall NOW did not endorse Hillary. their leadership was spit with CLinton and Obama supporters. they endorsed Obama after the primary. at least that is my recollection.
Marille,
No, I’m sure they endorsed Clinton in the primaries. They Endorsed Obama after Clinton suspended her campaign. Please look it up. I’m not good at pasting things, but I just checked and they backed Clinton.
Ladies all I did was posted a reprint from Malkin’s Site- I did not edit it-nor Kendall- made it up- to show how the story is being reported elsewhere
and Kendall or the record the NOW PAC endorsed HRC
KendallJ,
I remember the anger felt toward orgs like Planned Parenthood and NOW for endorsing Obama before the Democratic National Convention. Clinton had only suspended her campaign. The decision for nominee hadn’t been made and their pledged delegate count was too close. Srong Clinton supporters, like myself, worked hard for those summer months to get 300 pledged delegates to sign a petition to ask her to fight it on the floor. The pro-choice women’s orgs should NEVER have announced the change before the convention. That is what I believe Malkin is talking about. Since Obama wasn’t the clear winner yet.
But the issue here remains- Whitman is a successful business woman, pro choice- an excellent role model for girls and yet NOW CA endorses Brown( because and only because imho he has a D after his name), after he calls MEg a” Whore” and NOW CA Prez says Whitman is” Whorey” and Brown was correct…So what gives? Is NOW CA an arm of the Dems or supporting women, girls as its mission statement says ?
Bruce, thank you for bringing us back round to the salient point here: Jerry Brown is no friend–or example–to women; Meg clearly is.
Google CANOW and visit their site. They are not a pro-woman org. They are a pro-Democrat org. Everything on their blog speaks to absolute partisanship of the rabid kind, which is always going to be a hindrance in working for full equality. You can’t fight for half of women and call that fighting for women.
Optixmom,
I agree that they should have waited to change their endorsement until after the convention, but they endorsed Hillary Clinton through the primaries.
Bruce,
The National Organization For Women endorsed Clinton, Kim Gandy herself made the official statement.
I am not condoning NOW’s national Offices or CA-NOW’s behavior, I am just stating the facts about their endorsement of HRC.
Hay everyone,
I am the first to scream about the 2008 Dem primary theft of the nomination from Clinton. I too was upset about the lack of loyalty many failed to display towards HRC in the end. It turns my stomach just thinking about it. What I learned is that both parties are just as corrupt as ever and that our votes mean nothing. The puppet masters are the ones who make all the decision. Our “democracy” is a sham
There is know doubt that N.O.W. has become an ependage of the Democratic Party regardless of what the democratic party does or does not do. This is why Shelly Mandell, the prior CA-N.O.W. president is gone after endorsing McCain-Palin in the 2008 presidential election.
Well NOW should not be allowed to run around acting as if they represent women when they don’t. We don’t all live in California or I am sure we would be right there with our picket signs. Of course it could be that NOW is so irrelevant at this point no one cares enough to picket them and also do you really think the slanted liberal Corporate media would cover it? Well I guess FOX news would but that would be about it. The rest of them would be sticking with pretending sexist slurs don’t exist and Democrats are Pro Woman.
“I see a long, ugly loss of everything the 20th century brought us…”
It’s true, stupidity and evil just win out far too often and it does look like we’re going backwards, but sometimes things are not what they appear. In 2008 the Dems swept the election and it appeared to be the best thing that had happened to them in a long time, but it wasn’t, it’s been more damaging to that party then anything Republicans could have done to them. For a “win” that sure was an empty victory. The same is true when people lose. Sometimes what looks like a loss is actually the catalyst that eventually inspires some genuine progress.
Great piece, Anna Belle and great research. CA-NOW does disappoint in their endorsement just as NARAL did when they abandoned Hillary for Obama in the primaries in 2008.
And as to those who are saying this is a “faux controvers” because Brown, or his aides, were referring to Whitman as a “Whore” in the political sense miss the point. This is inappopriate no matter what. I don’t recall too many male candidates referred to as whores under any circumstances. His true nature and the nature of his campaign has shown through.
this clip in the updated version is so appalling. his talking over anyone. but it is not funny to say mammograms don’t help anyone. imagine that would say PSA (prostate antigen) would help anyone. each test has false positives, mammgrams don’t detect all cancers. but they have helped a huge proportion of women with breast cancers, they are a mainstay for early detection. the breast cancer funding agency Komen came out to sharply criticize the withdrawal of funding for mammograms for women under 50, because there is a significant incidence of women under 50 with breast cancer. and early detection is the way to for surviving breast cancer.
this video shows ignorance of the female population as a whole. on top of the disrespect to individual women like Susan Estrich.
A mammogram saved my mom. Jerry Brown can fucking rot in hell.
“You can’t fight for half of women and call that fighting for women.”
Again though … they are NOT fighting for even that half of women. They are fighting for NO WOMEN WHATSOEVER. They are supporting Democratic men and attacking Republican women and absolutely nothing else. Both attacking Republican men and supporting Democratic women are also outside of their apparent mission.
And when you strip the adjectives off, what does that translate to:
Support men, and attack women.
Patriarchy as usual.
Janis,
I love your passion and honesty. The women of NOW should be so bold. It’s the only way we will ever achieve progress that will lead to success in our goal of achieving our just and rightful place in society, which was wrongly taken stolen us by the patriarchy, much in the same way they stole the nomination from Hillary.
AB,
Thanks again for this great piece. Most people I’ve sent it to had no idea of JB’s sexist trail. I hope many women and men in CA become aware of this before they commit their vote.
So Fox reports that Jerry Brown’s feminist wife Ms Gust( whom Meg said she admired greatly) was the voice of the word Whore. This is canabilism…a feminist, calls the potentially first woman to be governor in Calif “a whore”- NOW endorses the man over the feminist pro choice woman. Sorry ladies you will never reach parity in office. In my view with women like NOW CA and Ms Gust fighting you- the concept of parity can never happen…
Yes, Bruce. That concept seems to be spreading – not sure if it’s true yet.
Has he re-emerged or still in hiding?
Think Jerry is still hiding- you have to wonder if Ms Gust is the fallguy(girl), or if she really said the words. When Meg was asked in the debate to state 3 qualities of Brown she like one she said was his wife Ms Gust…guess that make Ms Gust a judas right about now
Is this story still alive in California? Because it isn’t being covered in anything I see or read in Seattle.
Bes yes it is- and with the latest revelation that it was Ms Gust a supposed pro woman feminist who said it makes people wonder if NOW really is just am arm of the Dems now-If they dont endorse a pro choice, pro gay, successful business woman who happens to be a republican that they will never endorse a female republican for anything. By the by it was on the CBS news Sat Eve too
Bruce, they won’t endorse a female Democrat either, in the end. They’ll pretend to, but when she gets a fist in the face, they’ll look the other way in her case as well. They’ll just be “more in sorrow than in anger” as they do it.
How did womanhating become the hallmark of feminism again? People always accuse feminists of hating men, but there seems to be no one a “feminist” hates more than another woman.
I want Whitman to trample Brown in the next debate. Gloves off people. No holds barred. Mrs. Whitman, wipe up the floor with the two-faced, woman-hating bastard!
It is not about being “nice” or “polite”, it is about respect and he obviously has none for women. Why does he have to anyway when groups like NOW just fawn all over his sorry woman-hating azz.
Win big Meg!
What egregious posturing! Meg Whitman’s hypocrisy, arrogance and elitist sense of privilege are appalling. It has nothign to do with being a wealthy female. It has everythign to do with integrity, of which she has none. Zip. Nada.
California’s governorship is not an eBay item. It does not automatically go to the highest bidder. Billionaire Meg Whitman believes otherwise, having invested over 140 million dollars of her ill-gotten gain in an effort to buy the office. Wealth does not entitle her to public office. The governor’s mansion is not a billionaire’s entitlement.
Meg Whitman did not vote for 28 years, made millions engaging in illegal stock spinning while on the Goldman Sachs board, made billions overseeing eBay while it operated history’s largest illicit products scam (being aptly called “a cesspool of counterfeiting”), knowingly employed undocumented worker Nicky Diaz & then fired her when it became politically expedient to do so, physically and psychologically abused other female workers like Young Mi Kim and Jill Armstrong, had no problem with her campaign chairman Pete Wilson calling other politicians “whores” but now feigns grave offense when one of Brown’s aides suggests the term in aptly pointing out Meg’s meretricious pandering for union endorsement, and now Whitman wants to waltz into office having bought the California governor’s office with $140+ million of her ill-gotten gain & her bottomless bag of mud-slinging lies, distortions, and cheap shots the likes of which have not been seen in the Golden State since the days of “Tricky” Dick Nixon (albeit beaten, thank God, by Jerry Brown’s father in the 1962 race.)
Frankly, I am sickened by Meg Whitman’s cheap-shot tactics, lies, distortions, false piety, sanctimonious posing and feigned outrage, akin to “Tricky” Dick. What we face in 2010 is a repeat of the 1962 race, except that this time battling an Edmund Brown is not the dirty trickster himself, but Dick Nixon in drag.
wow there is an angry man. how in the world can a mere woman who cannot have any experience, what is she talking about, run for office. she has money, has to be illicit. woman cannot earn this money legally right? no look at that old gentleman brown, has accumulated so many years in governors office. that he calls experience. running the largest state in such deficit that he has to step out midterm. he created job by deficit spending. great government jobs with nice benefits. here comes this woman from an internetshop. what kind of experience can this be?
hi will ruha. you must have landed on the wrong planet. take off for your own piece of mind.
Anna, don’t forget that Brown is a wealthy man himself, and is up to his eyeballs in oil money via his family connections. His entire career is a sham, a way to dupe first hippies and now, well, hippies. That they bought it hook, line, and sinker pretty says it all with regard to their critical thinking skills. Them railing against Meg’s money is perhaps the most laughable thing about this campaign.
I am not surprised that Jerry Brown is a racist. Jerry Brown you racist sexist pig. You can kiss my black female ass. Perhaps someone should have taught you to read. I hope he don’t count on the black vote to get elected. If black people are smart they will come out in droves for Meg Whitman and send Brown a message of NO MORE RACISM and women should also send him a message of NO MORE SEXISM.
Once upon a time not so long ago the use of the word Nigger was acceptable. Black people said NO MORE and now if you use that word you get fired. Women are going to have to do the same thing. You use any of these words you get fired.
Oh and since this has broken gay men have been getting on my nerves some suggesting it is OK to refer to a woman as a whore until I said if that’s true then its OK to refer to gay men as faggots. I guess that opened some of their mind.
As opposed to Megs contempt to those who actually create the wealth in a company. Here’s a clue from Adam Smith.
Labour was the first price, the original purchase – money that was paid for all things. It was not by gold or by silver, but by labour, that all wealth of the world was originally purchased.
