The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.

Eric Bolling has a new show on the Fox Business Channel, Money Rocks,   During a discussion of some already controversial statements made by Democratic strategist, Bob Beckel, concerning “non existent terrorists” a very heated exchange developed involving Beckel and Atlas Shrugs publisher, Pamela Geller.

The controversy started when Bolling played a clip of Beckel’s previous appearance on the show in which he stated:

Look, at some point, I know it’s sensitive here in New York and probably New Jersey, but we have to get over 9/11.

Bolling asked him:  “What did he mean by ‘we have to get over 9/11?”  According to Beckel, this was simply an expression of frustration for a variety of things, such as extra security at airports and a few other minor inconveniences designed to catch “a bunch of non-existent terrorists.”

A brief list of these non existent terrorists include: the Madrid train bombers, Russian train bombers, Shoe Bomber, the Lackawanna Six, Fort Hood assassin, the Virginia ‘Jihad’ Network, Christmas Day bomber, Fort Dix plotters, and the Times Square bomber.

In defending this rather silly statement Beckel began a misogynist rage towards Geller.

Geller: I would like to address Mr. Beckel’s point.  I don’t know why you’re carrying water for the most radical, intolerant ideology in the world today.  There have been 20,000 documented radical Islamic attacks since 9/11.  Each one with the imprimatur of a Muslim cleric…

Beckel:  You better be very careful.  You’re a woman, you better be very careful about who you say I carry water for, because you have no idea what you’re talking about. (Points emphatically at Geller).  And don’t start putting me in the middle of your crap!

Over at Atlas Shrugs, Geller asserts that Beckel’s sexist rants were not limited to the on-air conversation.  Prior to the show, she claims:

I was the only female on the panel and as we were prepping (getting mic’ed etc) for the show, Beckel was regaling his victims (Bob Hemmer, David Webb and Bolling) with sordid tales of pole dancers and the like.  Grotesque and deliberate.

Geller states that the confrontation continued after the break:

When we cut to break, Beckel chided Bolling for not bringing ‘Jewish slumlords’ on the show (referring to Bolling’s segment on Imam Rauf’s status as a New Jersey slumlord, so named in a lawsuit against Rauf by Union City.)  When I heard Beckel’s Jew hating belch, I said ‘and you’re an anti-Semite.’  He told me to ‘kiss his ass’ to which I responded that he would never get anyone anywhere in the world to get with that.

Beckel, although a noted substance abuse counselor and in-demand pundit, is to use Bill O’Reilly’s terms, a “pinhead”, and in my opinion should be ousted from his liberal perch on FOX News!

More appalling crap from TV men with political party affiliation. It seems they are collectively a bunch of arrogant, mindless pigs regardless of whether they are Republican or Democrat. Although I think the Republicans tend to have better manners and be direct with their venom which I personally prefer to the mocking wink wink contempt of Democrats. We need more women in charge of TV at the highest levels and the women who do show up shouldn’t have to run the gauntlet of male abuse and abusers. I don’t have any problem with these type of morons having a place to talk, I have a problem that this crap is force fed into the homes of everyone who signs up for basic cable and payment for this garbage is then extorted in the form of basic cable fees. The first amendment gives these morons freedom to talk, it does not guarantee them a paying audience or even any audience at all. Cut the cable cord women, you can get all the content you actually want on line without subsidizing these hosers.

I’d love to see a woman wearing a wire someday, who then posted “behind the scenes” rants like this pole-dancing bullshit to YouTube. Personal mics and small audio recorders are cheap as hell, and most phones come with them. It’s called hollaback — let’s get started! Pants these fuckers in public and watch them backpedal fast.

Also, if most guys are not like that — did someone cut out Hemmer, Webb, and Bolling’s tongues or were they laughing along?

This is how I see it. The sexist infractions of Corporate Media men are too numerous to count. They come in the form of open insults, smirky mockery and contempt, sexist advertising concepts, crap content on “women’s content” channels, and on and on and on and they come from the left the right and the middle. It is a waste of our time and energy to protest each and every one of them although it is good to shine light on them. Here is a plan that will work to stop the entire sexist Media Corporate culture which is what needs to change. Start a women’s campaign to cut the cable and watch only the content you actually choose, free of sexist ads, on the internet or from Netflix. This pushes the Corporate Media into the free market by not supporting their bundling and their gate-keeping. It stops them from being able to subsidize their sexist garbage with money they take from women who just want PBS. Go together with groups like Concerned Women for America and who knows even NOW and Emily’s List could see the light on this. If you can get significant numbers of women to cut the cable subscription cord you will change the culture at large not just the Corporate Media culture. You can also emphasize the money savings and maybe even suggest they can donate the saved money to churches or to women’s shelters. If changing culture is your goal this would work, if wasting time in conversation with a bunch of hosers is your goal then protest every sexist event.

Bob Beckel is a communist and a mysogynist which always go hand in hand. He is sympathetic to “religion” that promotes polygamy, apostacy, genital mutilation, systematic wife beating, be headings, and basically no rights for women, girls and members of othe “infidel” religions.
Say what you will about the conservatives but they are not afraid of strong powerful women like Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmen, and the long list of self respecting hard working women they are supporting in the upcoming election. Pamela Geller is a brave and courageous lady just as is Bridget Gabrielle and Ayan Hirsi Ali. Any civilized human being should be very concerned with what liberal democrats are willing to tolerate from barbarians who have zero respect for th rights of women.

I must correct my error. It is (D) Joe Sestak that (R) Pat Toomey is running against, not Arlen “act like a lady” Spector. In any case Toomey is well ahead in the polls. Thats great because Sestak strongly supports card check which denies workers a secret ballot in elections on whether or not to unionize. Even George McGovern opposes card check and supports the rights of workers to have a secret ballot.

Beckel is someone who should lose his access to the public forum. His blatant contempt for 51% of the public should exclude him from ever being called upon for a reasoned opinion on anything. Sadly, with the exception of this article and one or two others, there has been little attention paid to this appalling episode of misogyny.
Contrast that with Sanchez calling Jon Stewart a “bigot” on TV last week. That story (with video) was carried by all the major stations – and Sanchez has already lost his job over it. Because he dared insult a MAN.

Pacific cali: Rick dared to insult Jews and that is why he got fired. I find that odd because apparently it is insulting to notice the reality that most of the men who run Corporate Media are Jewish and to comment on the fact. I have been called a bigot before because I noticed it. Rick also made a comment about the guys who run media not looking like a cross section of the country, which is correct, and he was also fired for that “outrage”. Of course Corporate Media is pretty much a cesspool of idiocy so I can see how the people who are such poor stewards that they let it get to this point would be angry to be associated with responsibility for media garbage.

Bes: Thank you for the clarification on the Sanchez thing. Still, what a shame that there hasn’t been a similar outcry from the public on this Beckel episode. Beckel gets a pass because he only threatened/insulted women.

Could not agree with you more about the Corporate Media cesspool.
