Amy Siskind fires back at Rush Limbaugh: “Ignorant!”

by The New Agenda
|Last week, The New Agenda spoke out in The Daily Caller demanding an apology from Sen Majority Leader Harry Reid for his reference to Senator Gillibrand as the “hottest” member in the senate.
Yesterday, Rush Limbaugh weighed in on his radio show:
Now, “Amy Siskind, president and co-founder of The New Agenda, told The Daily Caller that if Reid does not promptly voice regret, she and her group will be building a coalition against the senator and demanding a mea culpa.” How about working to get
the pig unelected? If you feminazis wanted to be consistent here, you’d go out there and try to make sure that Dingy Harry didn’t win reelection. After all, he’s running against a woman! But the feminazis are just a bunch of libs. Feminazi-ism is just liberalism disguised as women’s issues. ‘Cause there’s not a word, not a word about all the horrible stuff said about Christine O’Donnell, not a word about the horrible stuff said about Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann. But when a Democrat sexist pig senator calls a Democrat woman a hotty, “Why, Katie, bar the door!” The NAGs awake from their slumber and it’s get out of the way. They’re ticked off. Can’t handle it.
Today, Amy Siskind fired back at Rush on Conservative New Media (the 4th most viewed conservative YouTube channel in the World), calling Limbaugh’s comments, amongst other things “Ignorant!”
Amy Siskind was joined on the radio show by The Daily Caller reporter Caroline May who wrote the article, Feminist group demands Reid apologize for calling Gillibrand ‘hottest’ senator.
You can hear the full interview in Part 1 and Part 2 below. In the beginning of Part 1, Siskind reviews the inaccuracies of Limbaugh’s statement. In Part 2 (3:40), Siskind issues a direct challenge to Limbaugh to have her on his show: “Let’s have a civilized, informed conversation.”

The other day I just happened to find Rush on the radio while flipping stations. I had never listened to his show before so I decided to listen to him in unedited form for two days. He spent a lot of time defending Sarah Palin And O’Donnel and if I hadn’t already seen clips and read transcripts of some of the hateful things he has said on his show, I would have thought from those two days of listening that he was pro-woman.
But being pro-woman does not mean simply standing up for a couple women that we decide to like. It means standing up for all women.
Rush is incredibly ignorant in regard to the New Agenda. Guess he didn’t do his homework!!!
Rush is a pig , always has been ..
he’s ugly, and old.
Don’t forget the prime motive of Rush is high ratings and profit. As much as the Liberals would like him to be the lead guru of the conservatives or Republicans he is an entertainer. It does sound like he is ignorant of the New Agenda’s goals however he is only interested in anything to the extent that it brings him listeners and profit. And the fact that he has even heard of The New Agenda enough to realize it is about women puts him ahead of many in the industry.

Yeah, I was just sitting here debating about whether to even comment on this one because anything Rush says always gets blown so out of proportion – by both sides. What ya got to understand is that not even all conservatives love him – certainly not all Republicans – and like Bes said, first and foremost, he’s a radio talk entertainer, just one with quite strong political opinions. I say all that to admit that while my ex and son do love to listen to him, I can only stand Rush in small doses even when I do agree with a lot of what he says.
So don’t think his popularity is solely about his political views. It’s definitely an acquired taste.
Didn’t he start out in sports? Cause it strikes me that his style is more akin to a sports commentator who just happens to comment on politics than anything else and sometimes rubs me exactly the same way as a woman that some of them do. What I mean is that even when they think they’re saying something nice they still end up making it sound bad. That’s exactly what I get from Rush at times and I tend to agree with his political views.
Does that make any sense?
He’s a closet case. I’m serious as a heart attack here. I am convinced of it.
he obviously dresses himself too. Look at his shirt. It looks no different than a bum off the sidewalk.
“Don’t forget the prime motive of Rush is high ratings and profit.”
Soooo, you’re saying that being a total and complete male chauvinistic asshole will give you high ratings and lots of money. Great. I feel much better now.
Patti: Is that what I said?! Rush is a Republican, I know in some quarters that makes him an ignorant, sexist, racist, pig but I don’t see him as being more ignorant, sexist or racist than Media Democrats.
Last night I actually saw O Reilly interview Bill Maher and Maher said the reason Obama has such low approval ratings is because people who don’t like his performance as President are racist. Of course at one point Obama had 70% approval rating and his race hasn’t changed since then. Add in the sexism the Dems showed towards their own candidate in 2008 and I think the Dems have an edge on racist and sexist behaviors.
Corporate media has lost the vast majority of viewers. Hit series like “Sinefeld” used to draw 75 million viewers not a “hit” series draws 8 million. The people remaining in Corporate Media’s audience do buy sexism but the largest part of the audience does not and has evaporated. As soon as Corporate Media is subjected to a free market much of this sort of sexist programing will wither away and there will be a noticeable cultural change, that time is coming quickly. The batch of hosers who run Corporate Media now are under the mistaken impression that freedom of speech gives them the right to impose their speech on people and extort payment for it under the cover of bundling. They are in for a very rude awakening.
Bes, this article was about Rush L’s comments about The New Agenda, not Bill Maher or the Corporate Media blah blah blah. Evidently you don’t mind being called a feminazi. Why you would defend him is beyond my comprehension.
Patti, I agree with you and Ami about the word “feminazi” . I cannot talk with people who use that word. it diminishes the atrocity the nazis did. anybody with some understanding of history cannot transport the term out of that time. it also dehumanizes women. there are plenty of womens’ actions (look at Allred) I can’t stand, but using this term is dispicable.
but Bes has a point. when you look at these high rated talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh or Chris Mathews, either side enjoys to be as provocative as possible. I could not listen to any of them.
Patti: You need to find a more honest way to argue. You have in your last few posts implied that I said “being a total and complete male chauvinistic asshole will give you high ratings and lots of money”. and “you don’t mind being called a feminazi”. I didn’t say either of those things. So basically you read a persons comments, twist them into something you find unacceptable and outrageous and then attribute your interpretation to that person and chide them for it. That is dishonest. You need some perspective. And it would be best if you say what you think rather than telling others what you say they think.
The Left’s yapping heads are equally racist, and sexist and outrageous as the Right’s yapping heads and they all do it for ratings and money. It is misguided because most people ignore them and the self righteous circus they create. In fact the only people who consider the yapping head’s rantings relevant are probably too stupid to figure out how to register to vote or fill out their ballot and mail it in a timely manner.
Who’s chiding whom, Bes? I have the right to speak my mind as do you. I was not being dishonest and I resent you saying so.
Bes, you are way too defensive. In my first comment when I said being a chauvinist will gain you ratings and money, this was not a slam on you, I was affirming your comment which is the truth. Why would you be insulted by that?
But then you implied that I think Rush is sexist solely because he’s a Republican and I never said any such thing. You also assumed I think he’s worse than “Media Democrats” and I never said any such thing.
This article is about Rush’s comments about The New Agenda. Period. Calling feminists feminazis is despicable. You have yet to comment on that so I can only assume it doesn’t bother you.
Patti: With your last sentence you are again telling me what I feel or think and again you are wrong. You are fine when you stick to what YOU think. I don’t need your approval of my topics to comment I believe there is an actual moderator here. But I admit I am not a linear thinker.
I am not personally insulted by the term feminazi. Does that mean I can’t be a feminist? In my mind the term refers to the type of feminist who have ineffectively run NOW and Emily’s List for the past 15 years. Women who think they can set litmus tests for feminism and that test is being a liberal Democrat. The type who are outraged there are women running for office who aren’t Democrats rather than being outraged that Democrats don’t run more women for office. The “Sarah doesn’t represent me” type. So what? Most politicians don’t represent me so why is it a sudden burden on Sarah Palin to represent every woman?
I hardly think saying that in my opinion Rush is no worse or better than the lefts talking heads would qualify as defending him. My comment is that his show is a part of this culture and that is how both sides behave. The Dems call women candidates Cunts and imply they are nutcases and focus on random minutia from when they were adolescent to “prove” their points. Rush invented the term Feminazi although he doesn’t use it to describe all women candidates. I do think my point that few people take these entertainers who rant and rave seriously is relevant.
I am not bothered by people who use the word Nazi. I take their meaning to be “terrible and dangerous movement or group of people”. I focus on the content of peoples entire statements I do not evaluate every individual word when I am trying to figure out what people are talking about.
Also I have never listened to Rush on the radio so I haven’t heard him in context but I have seen a few video cuts of him embedded in articles presented by both the left and the right.
What are you talking about, Bes? You can say whatever you want, I’ve never tried to act like the moderator. Chill out. I think you’re reading way too much into what I’ve written.
You are a funny one. You deny saying something, then you turn around and say it anyway. I was right that the term feminazi doesn’t bother you, wasn’t I? Wow.
