Jane Addams, a Pro-woman unites and empowers immigrant women in the early XX century
The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
While doing research on the evolution of immigration law and the diminishing optimism about assimilation as the sources of immigration change, I found that most of the literature is described in terms of men. Women, when mentioned, are mentioned in general terms as “women and children”. However, I found an interesting passage about Jane Addams, a pro-woman who united and organized immigrant women to face the daily hostility from …

‘Perv’ Polanski’s Extradition Blocked-Now a Free Man
The Government of Switzerland has rejected a request by the U.S. to extradite Roman Polanski.
The New Agenda wrote extensively last October about Polanski’s rape of a 13 year-old girl. Hollywood showed up to defend their ‘above the law’ colleague – Whoopi even went so far as to declare “It wasn’t rape rape.”
Well the big money of Hollywood got their way.
The New York Times reports:
The Justice Ministry said Monday in a statement that national interests were taken into consideration in the decision, and that Polanski was now a free …

Levi Johnston, The Liar: Are His 15 Minutes of Fame Finally Up?
The following article is cross-posted from NewsRealBlog (Feminist Hawk’s Nest) with the permission of the author. The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
Well, it wasn’t really 15 minutes of fame. It was more like 15 minutes of toolish media whoring, filled with prevarications for which the media itself was a more than willing pimp. On Tuesday, Levi Johnston finally admitted the shocking news that he was, in fact, lying. By shocking, I of course mean …

Finding Susan B. Anthony
“Mumps,” says the Doctor;
“Measles,” says the Nurse;
“Votes for women,” says the lady
with the alligator purse.
~Nursery rhyme about Susan B. Anthony and her famous black travel case
We’re home now and though we didn’t get the chance to share much of the trip with you from the road, we do have plenty to report now that we’re back. The trip was amazing and everyone was thoroughly changed by the experience. There were plenty of poignant moments and lots of discussion, some visits with people that the girls still can’t stop talking about. …

Is the Media Letting Mel Gibson Off the Hook?
The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
The anti-Semite Mel Gibson’s latest tirade – a vicious sexist and racist rant against ex-girlfriend Oksana Girgorieva, the mother of his 8-month old daughter, is drawing media coverage and condemnation, as the entertainment industry ponders whether this guy is now certifiable box office poison.
The condemnation of his racist remarks was swift and rightly so. But where was the outcry against his sexism, which was not only vile, but violent? In tape recordings, Gibson has …

Glenn Beck Honors Historical Women
The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
I applaud Glenn Beck for dedicating a Friday to the women who helped in the founding of our nation. I am very happy about his July 2nd episode. Previously on TNA, we have highlighted some of the negative statements he made toward women. We even recommended he follow Michelle Malkin’s example in his criticism and jokes over Michelle Obama.
So far, Glenn Beck has been the only person I know of to …

Why WeNews is Wrong: Marriage IS Good For Poor People
The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
Women’s eNews posted an article yesterday by Julia Marsh titled Marriage Loses Ground as Anti-Poverty Panacea which is interesting for several reasons. First the So-called ‘Experts on Poverty,’ which means the people who did the study, spoke to poor people. The so-called experts on poverty have NEVER lived below the poverty line which is less then 10,000 a year. The so-called experts on poverty have no idea what its like having …

Matthews: Media will destroy Palin if she wins in the primaries
As reported by Hot Air.
Interesting that Matthews, who led the pack in trying to bring down Hillary Clinton with sexism, is the one to call this out. He is right here – even if he is a contributing factor. Raising consciousness is the first step to evolving beyond this for our country.
Matthews, to his credit, points out that Palin has a legitimate chance at the WH.

Can an Obama-Lover Support Conservative Women and TNA?
The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
The New Agenda gets branded as women’s organization only a conservative could love, started by women still angry about the outcome of the 2008 Democratic primary race and its rampant sexism. Certainly no place for an unapologetic liberal who voted for President Obama and continues to support him?
Yet, despite the strong political differences I have with many at The New Agenda, I feel perfectly at home here.
At TNA, the target is sexism, and so is mine. …
