The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.

Hey Barbara! This is soooo long overdue that I’m going to turn my message to you into an acronym. Fire Whoopie Already! That’s right, FWA! Whoopi Goldberg, a co-host on the popular daytime talk show “The View” is not someone who should be representing women on national television. Because Whoopi couldn’t care less about the safety and welfare of women and girls when it comes to protecting her Hollywood friends.

whoopi-goldbergLet’s review some of Whoopi’s verbal woppers against women this past year:

On child rape and Roman Polanski
:

“I know it wasn’t rape-rape… All I’m trying to get you to understand, is when we’re talking about what someone did, and what they were charged with, we have to say what it actually was not what we think it was…”

and…

“We’re a different kind of society. We see things differently. The world sees 13 year olds and 14 year olds in the rest of Europe… not everybody agrees with the way we see things…”

On wife abuser Mel Gibson’s latest racist (and sexist!) rant who apparently is sometimes nice to Whoopi:

“I know Mel, and I know he’s not a racist…He may be a bonehead. I can’t sit and say that he’s a racist, having spent time with him in my house with my kids.”

On a female victim of verbal and physical abuse:

Whoopi: Thank God none of us are going through it. You know what I mean? There but for the grace of God go we.

Joy [wide eyed]: I wouldn’t be in that position. I don’t really identify with this at all.

Whoopi: Maybe you wouldn’t hit somebody and you wouldn’t allow somebody to hit you. You wouldn’t tape somebody yelling at you on the phone.

Joy: I would do that. If I were in her position. I would have done the exact [same] thing…

Whoopi: Why not take it to the police and say this is what’s happening? Why is at the tab[loids]… This is the thing that bothers me. If there’s a beef, take it to the cops, to the people that can take care of it. To release it…

If somebody is kicking your behind and punching you in your face while you’re holding their kid you don’t go to the cops first, you go to Radar Online.

Joy: But she did get a restraining order. It’s not like she didn’t cover herself.

On criticism from the internet and blogosphere that her remarks supporting Gibson’s character were disgraceful:

“You can kiss my behind!” she shouted. “You cowardly piece of dog mess!”

Do I need to provide commentary on this as to why Whoopi’s words are an insult to women? I don’t think so. Her own words speak volumes. All I have to say is this is not what a feminist looks like! FWA! Fire Whoopi Already!

Please contact the View here and tell them you will not watch the View EVER again until Whoopi is fired.

I don’t know what a feminist is anymore, but I do know what a complete and total jackass looks like, and that’s a picture of one right up there.

Has she ever said anything about Rihanna?

Why not just cancel “The View”?

The thing is who else are they going to get instead of Whoopi. As far as I can see all the women in Hollywood pretty much act anti woman. That is how they get employed and stay employed and it is also why real women can’t relate to them. The gatekeeping behavior of the corporate media has to be stopped so real women can have a voice. I don’t think crap like this needs to be removed from the airwaves we simply need to provide an authentic voice of real women and then this crap will be forced out of business. And if there is no authentic female voice on TV we refuse to watch TV at all, which is pretty much my attitude at this point. Women have a lot of consumer power and if there was a free market in media the portrayal of women would change in a matter of months. Without a free market it is just going to be more of the SOS.

By the way I think I saw that there was some sort of session on women and girls at the all male annual media gathering in Sun Valley this week, wouldn’t you love to get some notes on what the guys discussed?! I know I would love to be a mouse in the corner.

I sent my letter to the View – Whoopi stays, then I go.

Yeah not “rape/rape”. And Mel didn’t mean “ni**er/ni**er”, and he didn’t leave “death threat/death threats”…

    shame on her

Whoopi is an embarrassment to women and the human race. It is sad that a woman can talk about rape so nonchalantly and that a black woman can be so f..king dumb and still have access to the airwaves. Rape and sexual violence enslaves 100′s of millions of women and children across this world and for Whoopi to be so absolutely ignorant of what I am speaking about as a black woman adds an extra special hurt to her dumb. And THE VIEW is so horrid that in and of itself it is a violation of the equal amendment clause because it is just hate speech against women….and how hard did they have to look to find so many f..ked up women who are so f..king clueless.

I USED TO LIKE WHOOPI AND THOUGHT SHE WAS VERY FUNNY. I WAS PUT OFF FIRST BY THE TED DANSON MATTER YEARS BACK.. THEY WENT TO A PARTY AND HE WAS IN BLACK FACE SHE GAVE HIM HORRID JOKES TO TELL. PEOPLE WALKED OUT.
NOW THE RAPE OF A 13 YEAR OLD IS OK WITH HER??? SHE STICKS UP FOR MEL GIBSON.
I WATCHED THE SHOW WHERE SHE WAS PUTTING HER HEAD DOWN ON THE TABLE AND WANTED TO GO HOME BECAUSE SHE WAS BORED WITH WHAT BARBARA WALTERS AND THE OTHERS WERE TALKING ABOUT. MAYBE SHE HAD A POINT, BUT SHE HAD SOME NERVE TO TREAT BARBARA THAT WAY. TODAY SHE WALKED OFF THE VIEW. SEE THE EPISODE AND YOU CAN SEE WHY.
SHE APPEARS ON THE SHOW LOOKING SLOPPY IN COMPARISON TO THE OTHERS. SAME OLD WHITE SHIRTS ALL THE TIME AND THAT HAIR. NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STYLE. IF IT WERE ON A YOUNGER WOMAN IT MIGHT WORK.
OFF SUBJECT, I AM TO THE POINT OF NOT WATCHING THE VIEW ANY MORE. THEY JUMP ON THE GUESTS THEY DON’T LIKE. HOW WOULD ANY OF US LIKE TO TRY TO GET A WORD IN WITH ALL OF THEM TALKING AT ONCE AND BEING SO OPINIONATED. JOY IS A BIG KNOW IT ALL. I THOUGHT MRS. JOHN MC CAINE HELD HER OWN WITH THEM. SHE IS ONE SMART LADY.

Whoopie has no class by the way she gobbles food when it is available.
Her dirty mouth is something else. If she can’t control her mouth them she needs to be fired. This is much worse than Star or Rosie. How about it Barbara send her packing
