This isn’t the first time that Mel Gibson has been in the news for behaving badly. But no matter how much bad press Mel got last time, it’s nothing compared to what he deserves now.

mel_gibson2Tapes have been released featuring Mel Gibson verbally abusing and threatening Oksana Grigorieva (ex-girlfriend and mother of his infant daughter) with physical and sexual violence, in the most reprehensibly sexist terms. The tape also includes a tacit admission of previous physical abuse and a death threat.

Rumors abound that this incident will end Mel Gibson’s career. But rumors aren’t good enough. We want Hollywood to speak out against Mel Gibson’s appalling brutality in no uncertain terms. The industry must tell Gibson that they will NOT condone his actions any longer.

Mel Gibson must pay for his violent, misogynistic behavior.

TAKE ACTION!!!
Mel Gibson’s next movie, The Beaver, is affiliated with Summit Entertainment. Tell them that releasing this film represents support for Mel Gibson’s misogyny, and that we will not stand for it!!!

This is certainly a good cause however don’t hold your breath until you get anywhere with it. Check out the pictures at this link, the annual meeting of media moguls is taking place now in Sun Valley…you tell me what’s wrong with these pictures and why “women’s content” consists of Top model, beauty pageants and the kind of crap Oxygen network promotes punctuated with tit and ass advertising for Victoria’s Secret.

There are no amends he can make. The only thing he can do for me is dry up and blow away.

But the company had best not take a single action that advances him in any way.

I agree that Hollywood is about as sexist as it gets, and having any kind of impact won’t be easy, but if enough people raise hell, and stay away from a movie that, given it’s plot line, may have had a female audience, it’s worth it. Sorry Jodie, we had no choice.

Summit is the studio that was promoting Polanski’s latest film so I doubt they will give a rats ass about Mel and his sexist spew. Of course their biggest box office draw is the Twilight saga, before that they were nearly bankrupt.

Shouldn’t be too hard to pick up a few cans of neon green spray paint from the local hardware store and decorate the posters with a giant block-capital ASSHOLE, though.

Honestly, there’s already been some murmuring that this movie might not get a big release. Given that this studio’s cash cow plays to a largely female audience, they might be a bit more receptive to complaints from women.

Agree Sandra. Summit is tettering – we can push them over the edge with a whole lotta emails and calls!

I called and got his voicemail – asked for a return call.

Told him who I was, what our org stood for and the message his studio would be making by releasing this film.

More Ammo – part of the assault where he punched her in the face allegedly involved him pulling a gun and threatening to kill her, the children and himself – all in front of her 12 year old son. Additionally, the comments are almost all blaming her for being a gold-digger, or somehow inviting his psychotic behavior.
