5 Heroines at Husson University in Bangor, Maine

We at TNA would like to honor the five women at Husson University who put their own lives on the line to subdue a male who was stabbing another woman in a parking lot on campus.
One of the women had just taken a self-defense class and was able to formulate a quick plan to disarm the attacker. In this day and age where people don’t wish to get involved it is even more heartening to know that these young women joined together, saved a life, and got a violent offender off of the streets.
So hats off to these glorious women of Husson University we are so greatful for your bravery!
What a great story! I love how one of the heroines spoke about her self-defense class and how she made decisions in seconds and felt like she knew what to do. And then how she spoke about the other women who weren’t trained in self defense but were driven by their courage and desire to stop violence. Brava! I want to sign up for a self-defense class NOW! I would like to have this knowledge and ability and I think ALL women should have this kind of training.
What an uplifting story! I think it would be a good idea to encourage women everywhere to avail themselves of self-defense courses. They are empowering and, in this case, truly a life-saver.
such a great story. And yes Alison and Monarch, amen to self defense for all women. let us start a call for inclusion of self defense in PT class at all schools. I can see a lot of girls to join some martial arts class after a teaser class in school
All women should make sure all girl children can defend themselves from birth on. The single most important lesson from a mother to a child…..
Can you imagine what the world would look like if women had bodily self integrity because with it comes — naturally — the empowerment of the mind which would lead to endless possibilities.
Of course, at the moment, girl children have never been more at risk world wide
