Women voters are fed up with the state of America’s leadership, and are ready to elect a female president. Amy Siskind on why Sarah Palin—or someone else—needs to step up and capitalize on women’s outrage.
Women voters, who have decided almost every modern-day election, are up for grabs. Women are a force behind the Tea Party movement, and are marching away from the Democrats in dismay. Could the country’s disenfranchisement …

In Marketing, All the Single Ladies are Notably Absent

Apr 4, 2010 | 2 Comments

The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
Women were notably absent from the list of technology experts asked to review Apple’s new iPad. At first glance this might seem like a slight to women’s tech expertise. In fact, all the single ladies are the largest marketing demographic for growth in the United States, and the most actively-ignored demographic across the board.
As recently as 2009, marketing execs overlooked unmarried women entirely, favoring immigrants or the recently come-of-age Generation Y. But …

The opinions expressed herein are those of Joan Sweeny, Producer of Follow the Prophet, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
When my partner at Red Road Productions, Robert Chimento, first gave me the script of  Follow the Prophet I couldn’t imagine that the story was based on truth – until I started reading the research…
Follow the Prophet is the story about a young girl escaping from a Polygamy cult; an edge of your seat thriller that explores how brainwashing is used to promote ritualistic underage …

Virginia Thomas: Make Liberty Happen!

Apr 2, 2010 | One Comment

The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
Check out Justice Thomas’s wife standing up for what she believes:
In January, Virginia Thomas created Liberty Central Inc., a nonprofit lobbying group whose website will organize activism around a set of conservative “core principles,” she said.
The group plans to issue score cards for Congress members and be involved in the November election, although Thomas would not specify how. She said it would accept donations from various sources — including corporations — as allowed under …

Thank You Demi Moore

Apr 1, 2010 | 6 Comments

The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
Hurray for Demi Moore for starting a conversation on twitter regarding the casual use of the word “pimping”! The Boom Box gives the summary:
“Are you using the word ‘pimpin’ as in pimping?” asked Moore. Kardashian replied, “Doesn’t everyone? LOL.”
“No disrespect I love a girls night out but a pimp and pimping is nothing more than a slave owner!” Moore retorted.
Bold counterpoint, Demi. This, of course, brought a ton of replies by fans and followers …

Your Suggestions Please for Women to Feature

Apr 1, 2010 | 6 Comments

The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
Anyone who has been reading this blog a while knows I write profile pieces over important contemporary women. I have decided to stop writing profiles of women in politics. I cannot in good conscience write about women from all parties when I believe one of the dominant parties is blatantly against the best interests of women. But I had created short biographical profiles of other women such as Kathryn Bigelow and …
