The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.

It has been a while coming, but I have gathered a COMPLETE Beck Sponsor List for both his radio show and TV show. A frequent and well-deserved complaint is that men focus too much on female politician’s appearances and ignore their policies. Glenn Beck has provided us with the most startling example of why focusing on appearance rather than policy is detrimental to everyone. On his TV show, Beck has enjoyed portraying himself as a champion of democracy and the free market. He has enjoyed portraying himself as an opponent of communism.

However, a while back, on his radio show, Glenn Beck talked for several minutes about how “hot” Sarah Palin looked in a certain hat. In the midst of his conversation 0:30 thru 1:05, he described the hat:

It’s almost like a Mao hat, but I’m okay. First time I’ve been okay with a Mao hat. I’m kind of okay with a Mao hat. I’m like I don’t know – talk to me about Mao. So, really, 70 million people dead. That’s fascinating. So, you come here often? It’s serious. She could have been elected wearing the hat!

So, if an attractive woman were communist, Beck would willingly forget about democracy and the free market economy. It would not matter if a woman’s policies – akin to Mao’s - were responsible for a multitude of deaths over 10x that of Hitler’s Holocaust. All on account of his hormonal reactions to appearances, Beck would have thrown common sense out the window and would have abandoned his self-proclaimed beliefs in democracy and the free market. As a matter of fact, he already did throw common sense out the window.

Beck is a hypocrite, and his “defending” of free markets and democracy is a lie. Right before he began his repetitions about the hat, he started to ramble about how tired Hillary Clinton looked, and when his guest said she appeared professional, Beck asked, “What does that mean?”

We should not tolerate sexist pigs such as Glenn Beck, and it is time to fry some bacon. The best way to stop Beck’s sexism is to contact his sponsors. Alert them of his sexism. Tell them to stop advertising on both his radio and TV show if it continues. If you have any additional information concerning these sponsors, please state it in the comments. The sponsors I have are:

Excellent work, Karen! Thank you for doing this.

Beck deserves a major thump by women, and those enlightened men, who have had enough of his sexist behavior and the only way to get to him is through his sponors. Obviously, he thinks he can get away with it because he’s fast becoming the same kind of narcissist obama is and he believes he’s invincible! After all, he thinks he’s got all the answers for all of us lesser beings!!

Beck is an insecure little man who cannot handle notoriety the way a secure man would. He believes by bringing high ratings to Fox, he’s exempt from criticism, particularly when it comes to his attitude towards women. Women don’t have the same kind of power as men, so there is little fear of retribution by them, which is why these guys think they can get away with such blatant misogyny.

Until we can put more women into positions of power, this is the only way they will listen to us — by going after their “bottom line.”

Interestingly enough, when obama did finally meet with the Dalai Lama, the Dalai told him that there needed to be more women in leadership roles. Even a holy man recognizes that women are greatly needed to balance power and how it is used in the world.

that whole piece needs to go around like Ledbetter against Palin’s daughter. will the teaparty junp in? and we need to contact the sponsors. we need to cut off the juice of this lemon. that is like Chris Mathew’s disgusting maleness.

Women may not have political power and most women in media are puppets of the corporations and patriarchy. However normal everyday women have economic power because we are the biggest consumers and control household budgets. Sometimes we control multiple household budgets, at one time I controlled my family’s spending as well as my parents and elder aunts finances because I was the only one who steeped up to do it. Once feminists harness this form of power which IS understood by corporations and patriarchy they will be able to flex their muscle more. Good work Karen. Contacting these companies is good but by merely not buying the products they offer all women can participate.

Thanks for the list Karen. I’ve been wanting to write Glenn Beck’s sponsors and thank them for continuing to sponsor him. He’s doing a great job educating us while adding a little humor as shown above.

I take a contrarian view. I will never write to defend Sarah Palin against perceived sexism. She was chosen, IMO, because she was a woman and not because she was qualified. The men of the RNC chose to hide behind a woman in 2008 and nominated a figurehead. Let the RNC defend her. She bought into the misogyny of her party so she can deal with it herself.

I have just discovered this excellent website. Also, thank you for this particular webpage, Karen.

I find it ludicrous that Glenn Beck deems himself qualified to discuss what “smart” or “professional” means, as if he were some kind of expert on those subjects when, in fact, he himself cannot come anywhere close to those qualities. What a clown.

    Happy boycotting, people.

You women are being very silly If all you have to worry about is what Beck says about Hillary and Miss Sarah you all deserve what ever Barry brngs your way. Make up your minds you CANNOT be strong women if everytime someone says something about a female and you scream that it is sexist and unfair you loose.
Saraha wore a jaunty little hat and Hillary looked like Death wared over. Be honest with all the is availabe and she looks like she crawled out from under a suitcase. Fine representation of American womanhood a woman who despises her femenity so much that she believes looking her worst makes her one of the boys.
I hear so many women talking about The Donalds upsweep hairdo have you ever seen the Donald in a sweat because of it. Have you heard men getting angry about the back side sweeps that they wear to cover their bald heads? You know when they part and tease the remaining 10 strands of hair and wrap it around their heads or Can you imaginemen boycotting something because The sage of Omaha looked even more tired and dowdy than usual.
You American women think you know what equality is this article shows you have no clue. And you wonder why Women outside of the USA who are in your opinion so disadvantaged see you as pathetic beings.Lady Nacy, I do not like her or her Politics but she is total Female and shegets her job done without crying about what people say about her that is confidence and elegance.
Equality will never be achieved because as soon as something is said you all go off crying …you want it both ways
As for enlightened men? You mean the ones that are tripping over themselves to get wives from outside because they are tired of putting up with you playing at being a man with a Vagina or the ones with shrinking male parts and breasts from eating too much Soy or the ones that would rather you on the frontline so they wont have to defend you?Any man who cannot be honest enough to say what is obvious is not worth any womans time.

Aim High seems to have considerable low self-esteem in light of his need to come to a feminist site to spout unnecessary misogynistic vitriol. He’s only giving more legitimacy to Karen’s article protesting Glenn Beck need to be unnecessarily misogynistic on his TV and radio shows. This is another good example of why women must stand up and speak out against the patriarchy’s constant desire to control what women think, feel or do with their lives and when we don’t do what they consider appropriate, they attack.

Amy’s right, Karen. You’ve definitely struck a nerve. Good for you.

  • Kathleen Wynne said:

    Sparsam,

Was it deliberate that you forgot to include her recent change of heart about this or are looking simply for any excuse to try to drive a wedge between women and Palin?

In Sarah’s book “Going Rogue” she makes a point of saying that she should not have criticized Hillary for speaking out against the sexism because of what she, herself, experienced when she was chosen as VP. obama has NEVER apologized for the treatment of Hillary by his campaign or his supporters! In fact, Sarah had been more respectful towards Hillary than the dems were during the campaign. She made a point of acknowledging her’s and Geraldine Ferraro’s important role in blazing a trail for women to be taken seriously in running for high office and that she and other women were standing on their shoulders. So, why try to make Sarah into something she’s clearly not?

I’m done with automatically encouraging divisiveness and hatred towards women in politics simply because they have different views than I do. I take the time to find out if their position is that of those who elected them and how effective they’ve been in serving their constituents. Sarah’s record has shown her to be a very successful and popular governor. I respect her standing up to her own party and calling out corruption, at her own political risk. I respect that she was willing to resign for the Energy Board she was on because she refused to participate in the corruption that was going on. In fact, before leaving office, Sarah chose a pro-choice judge for the Alaska Supreme Court and got a lot of flack from her party for doing so. She believed the woman was the best qualified person for the position and believed this woman would not impose her beliefs into her decisions. These are qualities I want in a public servant, don’t you?

On the other hand, I’m totally against the slash and burn tactics used by Rahm Emanuel and the obama administration to get what they want politically.

If you want to criticise someone, the dems are more than deserving of becoming exactly what obama said they were running against. Hypocritical political hacks engaging in business as usual.
