March is Women’s History Month.
Stay tuned to The New Agenda blog as we celebrate the incredible women that have, and continue to shape our country.
We also encourage our viewers during this month to submit stories about their favorite historical or modern day women. You can submit your blog piece here.

I’ll bet anyone of the women pictured above would disown most all of us who profess to be “fighting” for equality. They would see us for the total wimps we are who value fashion over common sense; who not only are objectified by men but who encourage men to objectify us.
There will never be equality because most women contribute mostly to the status quo and treat other women worse than most men do.
“Why has the woman’s struggle for equality come so far yet remains essentially at the starting line? There are those that will argue that many advances have been made, but they have no answer to the basics.
Women are still paid less than men and treated differently than men doing the same job.
Sexism and misogyny are rampant.
One answer may be found in history – but women do not have any.
There is a succession of knowlege that is passed on, amplified, changed and observable in history – but women do not have any. The operative word here is change. Essentially, society, customs, women and men have not changed.
One overwhelming reason is that possible changes are discouraged by threats and are fiercely fought. It is only when a movement or a person breaks the barrier and sustantial change is in the offing that we see and experience the massive forces at work to keep women from ever uniting with a common goal – their own personhood.
Unless there is a strong, fiercely fought push back, the day to day barriers and threats to women go nearly unnoticed.
One very recent example was publically demonstrated when an extreamly intelligent and qualified woman sought the office of president of the United States. For some time she overcame the many barriers that the system-driven media raised against her and her supporters. Then just as it seemed she would surely win the Primary of her Party, the Party itself raised up and buried her under its own broken rules.”
made me cry. in my mind, and my heart, and, because it is so, Hillary is my president. This sham pretender is just a usurper, soon to be driven out and his legacy will be worst president ever. worst ever.
Hillary Rodham Clinton, our 44th President, even if they wouldn’t let her take the job she was born to do and clearly won. clearly.
The Democrats lost more than me as a voter (and I speak for 1000′s of people in my little community who will never vote Democrat again), they lost their humanity. When they broke those rules and bought votes and lied and cheated they stole from America, especially her women. As a woman, that cut went deep and I will never forget.
When Sarah Palin becomes President, her win will have to count double for the win stolen from us all.
Shame on them all. Shame on them all. Shame especially on the women who in droves left Hillary standing and ran to bow down to the pretender. Shame especially on you–and you know who you are.
thanks new agenda. beautiful pictures. do you have pictures from the NWP Alice Paul @ Lucy Burns? they are missing here.
just love Elizabeth Cady Stanton looking like she sprung out of a painting from Marie Cassatt, and Susan B Anthony. the PBS home movie about these two “not for ourselves alone” is wonderful to watch. and then of course Iron jawed angels, a story coming very close to historic events, the end events to get us the vote by Alice Paul and Lucy Burns. A must see movie. Alice Paul never expected anything from politicians, she was not disappointed, she strategized how to make the president and congress give in. Her superb intellect, strategies and organizational talent was the major force to bring us the vote.
back 70 years to the 1848 convention. anyone knows the 11 sentiments raised in the convention?
