Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball recently moved Mississippi’s 1st House District from “leans Democrat” to “leans Republican”. This is good news for Angela McGlowan who, if elected, will be the FIRST WOMAN ever elected to represent Mississippi in Congress – House or Senate.
Ms. McGlowan also recently received a very high profile endorsement, the famous Judge Joe Brown.
On Friday, Feb. 18, Judge Joe Brown will be on campus at Ole Miss to address the students and people of Mississippi and give Congressional candidate, Angela McGlowan, his official endorsement. Judge Joe Brown, the well-respected host of a nationally syndicated courtroom television show, is scheduled to make his announcement at noon in front of the Student Center, facing the Grove,” McGlowan’s campaign announced in a statement this evening.
However, Angela has a tough primary fight on her hands. She’s up against formidable opponent, Alan Nunnelee, who is described by The National Journal as:
…a favorite of the NRCC, a member of the “Contenders” tier of the party’s “Young Guns” program.
Nunnelee is also backed by conservative super star Mike Huckabee who headlined a fundraiser for him this month.
So this will be a close but exciting race – well worth watching. Stay tuned.

This is not a woman who loses. I will put my bets on her to take it all.
She seems like a tough woman. I hope she can win
found this about his position on taxes
“Alan Nunnelee changes positions on taxes as quickly as most people change shirts,” said Jesse Ferguson, Southern Regional Press Secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign committee. “He’s fought to raise income taxes and increase taxes on hospital beds for sick people, but as a candidate for Congress he’ll declare his opposition to tax increases and government spending. Mississippi families are struggling with tough economic times right now so the last thing they need is someone they can’t trust to stand up for them in Congress. The political winds might start blowing again and cause Alan Nunnelee to find another tax increase to support and a pledge to break.”
there is a site “fire Alan Nunnelee”. they are outraged over his position as appropriations committee chairman, inceased his income in 09 21%, added 300 state government jobs but was for spending cuts on education by 35 million, proposed cut on medicaid for disabled. also proposed that kids who were fundraising has to register their activities with the state.
i see a lot of talking points for McGlowan and supporters.
Social Security has already been privatized. I have proof of my name being used to do so. My account is at Fidelity Investments and was opened on or around 1991. I have a SSA matching document to the initial deposit at Fidelity.
The SEC and FINRA refuse to make Fidelity divuldge where this initial deposit came from.
I call it identity theft.
