The following article appeared today in the Albany, NY based newspaper The Legislative Gazette.

The New Agenda, NOW-NY and Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee are keeping the pressure on. We demand that State Senator Hiram Monserrate step down from public office. We have delivered our petition to the NYS Senators serving on a special committee to determine whether Monserrate will be forced to step down.

img-bs-top---siskind-hiram-monserrate_174909684487Recently, the judge sentenced Monserrate and he was given no jail time; but rather put on probation and required to get counseling and perform community service.

Marcia Pappas, President of NOW NY said:

Initially we were outraged, but you know we have to accept the judge’s decision and we said, ‘Well, at this point we have to move forward and try to convince the committee to do the right thing. We know that many of the people on that committee care about the safety of women and we hope they will put their money where their mouth is and expel Monserrate.

Amy Siskind, President of TNA added:

The judge’s decision is disappointing, but the main point for us is that he is a public figure and he needs to step down immediately and we’re hopeful that the Senate panel will continue to deliberate and that, that will be their conclusion…

Whether he’s guilty of a misdemeanor or felony assault, he’s not fit to be in public light.

I still cannot believe that Hillary Clinton got so much shit for wearing a bluose and blazer to work and Sarah Palin was lynched in effigy for eating meat, and this shitstain is deemed acceptable for the government.

I have written to both my local state senators (male – 1 dem, 1 pub) and basically told them under no uncertain terms that this person is not fit to serve. If you are a citizen of NY State you need to contact your state Senator and tell them to vote Monserrate OUT!!!

They will give you some bullshit reason that his vote carries the balance of power between the Dems and the Pubs and that is sheer unadulterated bullhockey. NY Women are being thrown to the wolves if Monserrate continues to be employed as a state senator. THROW THE BUM OUT!!!
