Why the Palin “Hate Affair” Will Backfire
I’ve been watching with great interest as of late the amount of hate stories written about Governor Palin. Oh yes, we are a country that loves our drama. And we are certainly a country that can, at times, be accused of going to extremes. But one thing is certain about our Palin Hate Affair – the biggest winner will be: Sarah Palin.
With Palin’s public re-emergence today on Oprah, the media’s Palin Hate Affair got fully underway. Sarah is, amongst other things, a cancer of the …

Hillary Tries to End Speculation of Governor Run
Yesterday, Secretary Clinton tried to end speculation that she will run for governor of New York in 2010. Here’s what she told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s This Week:
The country continues to speculate and perhaps obsess about Hillary’s return to a government leadership role: be it governor in 2010, or president in 2012.
One year later, is our country suffering from a heavy case of buyers’ remorse?

Congratulations Lauren Bacall!
The ever glamorous Hollywood legend Lauren Bacall was awarded an honorary Oscar this weekend during the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 2009 Governors Awards. In keeping with her reputation as in independent outspoken woman, Bacall shooed away an escort who tried to help her to the podium during Saturday’s gala. During her acceptance the actress held up her Oscar statue and said, “The thought when I get home that I’m going to have a two-legged man in my room is so exciting.”
At a time in Hollywood when women were …

Who Is Martha Coakley?
The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
I keep hearing a lot of buzz about Martha Coakley, who is hoping to become the first female Senator of the state of Massachusetts. Nancy Pelosi recently made news by endorsing her opponent (a man) in that race. I was left wondering who is this Martha Coakley I’m hearing so much about? I’m always thrilled to hear about a woman running for office, especially one who has a chance to be an historic first …

The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has announced that she will not leave her Senate seat until after the Texas Republican primary. According to the Dallas Morning News,

At private meetings in recent weeks, Hutchison has asked her …

Round #8,624 of MSNBC’s War on Sarah Palin – Ding! Ding! Ding!
The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, and not necessarily those of The New Agenda.
Here we go again… I don’t even know what to say about the video from MSNBC’s Morning Meeting with host Dylan Ratigan. Will the war on Sarah Palin ever end? I’m starting to wonder if they are just trying to wear us all down so we will just stop fighting sexism entirely? Ok! We get it, you hate Sarah Palin! But the war on Palin isn’t really the only point is it? It’s the …

Pelosi Makes History (Twice); Counting on My Hands
This has certainly been a big week for Speaker Pelosi. This week, she made history not once, but twice.
Capuano is a guy?
This past weekend, Speaker Pelosi worked with President Obama to take leadership and pass a historical healthcare bill. Speaker Pelosi is such a big history buff that she and Obama passed a bill that would take women back in history – by several decades.
Not to be outdone by herself, Speaker Pelosi made history again today up in Massachusetts where Attorney General Martha Coakley is leading in the polls …

Telemarking Ploy: Using Clinton and Palin to Get a Response
This morning I received a call from the NRA. Just in case you forgot, I am a Republican, have been my entire life; so you can imagine that I am on many call lists of organizations that are supported by my party. The woman on the other end of the call was very polite, she told me that she was an NRA member and asked me if I wouldn’t mind listening to a message from Wayne LaPierre, the Executive Vice President of the NRA, and then participate in a quick …
