Let’s put an end to sexism. Please continue to notify The New Agenda when sexism rears it’s ugly head!

Glad to hear this! The pictures are what made me mad.
[...] The New Agenda: MSNBC Apologizes! [...]
anybody believes a word he says? this guy is beyond to be educated. he stinks, has no respect for women. Agree with an earlier comment that MSNBC (believe from monarch)is for women what the KKK is for blacks.
And, Marille, I stand by the statement. I don’t think it’s hyperbolic or it minimizes in any way the torment inflicted on African Americans. MSNBC engages in a policy of hate-incitement toward female politicians. This network had a clear strategy of destroying both Clinton and Palin, and have demoralized every woman in the US through their actions. I just wish one, just one, liberal man would come out and denounce this.

I agree. He’s just saying it because he is scared of getting backlash. And then he lies and says he didn’t know about the picures… None the less we got the pig to apologize.
I am stunned. Congratulations New Agenda. As I am sure you have noticed I don’t feel it is worth while to try to change old thinking media or people. I feel old media should be driven out of business by forcing them to adapt and exist in a free market instead of continuing to extort subsidies from basic cable subscribers. This means Cable Choice. And rather than trying to make old thinking people see the light I feel women should step over them and spend their time creating a new and better situation. I doubt you succeeded in changing the misogynist flavor of MSNBC but you got an apology. By the way MS in MSNBC I think stands for Microsoft and they are from Seattle where sexism is not tolerated so Microsoft might be the company to complain to especially since they just launched the new operating system.
Bes,
Sexism is not tolerated in Seattle? That’s news to me! I live here and trust me, it has not been eliminated. I wish it were true.
I’m glad MSNBC apologized. It’s not much, considering the amount of sexism dished out, but it’s something.
Patti: Sexism is not institutionalized here the way it is on the East Coast. We have two female Senators, a female Governor, our new lead Supreme Court justice is a woman on a 9 person court which has 4 female justices. There is no east coast state that can match that. Can you look really hard and find instances of sexism. Yes Patti you can along with every other kind of injustice. But abortion rights have been passed at the state level since the 1970s. Domestic partnership laws were approved by a vote of the people this month. We even have a death with dignity law. Because we made it so that the Republican and Democrat parties do not have a RIGHT to run a candidate in the general election unless they finish in the top two in the Primary election we recently had 3 Democrats run against each other in the Primary and then the choice of two Democrats in the General election. If you notice the man who outspent his opponent by about 5 times and was considered the establishment candidate ran some bizarre ad mocking Sarah Palin and got his a$$ kicked in the general election. But at any rate I would prefer to see “Feminists” quit nagging others to conform to their perfect vision and start building that perfect vision themselves.
Whoa, Bes! Your points are well-taken (although some have nothing to do with sexism) but of which I was already aware. Who’s nagging? Geez. I was merely responding to your quote that sexism is not tolerated in Seattle. That’s absurd and you know it and you don’t have to look very hard to find it.
By the way, if you live in Seattle, you must be aware of the numerous bikini baristas at coffee stands in the Seattle area being pimped out by their sexist owners? Yeah, we’ve come a long way.
Bes,
I want some of what you are smoking. Sexism is not accepted in Seattle. Give me a break….
The ‘new’ media you speak to is being run by 19-30 year old gamer boyz and if you think this group is going to promote strong women you must have lost your mind. The media is the media and any image that is sexist or defaming must be fought and those responsible punished or held accountable.
A few wealthy women winning a few elections and a death with dignity law does not mean women have arrived. It is a good sign, but simply that.
This is how you know women have achieved equality–Hillary or her like will be president. Until then join with us ‘oldsters’ and fight the fight. I agree with you that hard work and MOVEMENT must be done before we move up in society and every woman must meet this challenge head on. Let’s work together….

I would go further. a female president would be a good step. but I need to see respect to women everywhere including absence of sexual violence. when nobody can imagine that rape could happen then I think we could celebrate the end of patiarchy.
I honestly don’t care what members of the media THINK. What I do care about is that they are not permitted to spread sexism and misogyny without the women of this country calling them to the mat for it. In my book, this is a victory. Kudos New Agenda.
