No Bunk: Palin Puts Obama to Shame is an article written by The New Agenda’s Amy Siskind. The full piece can be found at MORE.com here.
Excerpt:
As a onetime point guard, the thrilla from Wasilla inspires girls to join the team. Obama doesn’t…though the story of his poker-playing in Illinois proves he knows how important behind-the-scenes bonding can be.
This past weekend, President Obama included White House aid Melody Barnes in his golfing foursome. News? For this president, yes.
Up until that golf game, Obama had not included a single woman …

We’ve Come a Long Way, Baby?
Remember this slogan used by Virginia Slim cigarettes, which showed a trendy woman smoking this extra long cigarette, and touting the fact that now women had their very own cigarette? Have we come a long ways or do we only think we have?
As I’ve mentioned in several previous posts, when I was growing up Donna Reed, June Cleaver, and Margaret Anderson ruled the airways. Cooking, cleaning, and collating life’s little homilies in the half-hour show. But while Donna Reed was actually able to do more than vacuum her living room …

Senator Gillibrand is the Real Deal
I had a chance this morning to thank Senator Gillibrand, on behalf of our organization, for speaking out on Monserrate. In case you missed it, Kirsten didn’t mince words in her statement:
Domestic violence has no place in our society, and certainly has no place in the State Legislature. A court of law has found Sen. Monserrate guilty of domestic violence, and I believe he should resign immediately. If he does not resign, then the Senate should move to expel him. We must take a hard line against violence …

Sexism 3.0
When Apple banned the “iBoobs” application – denying small screens everywhere sexist looks at a jiggling rack – it looked like Apple had decided to keep sexist apps out.
Guess again.
This week Apple approved a Pepsi application that allows men to select a “type” of girl they’d like to “score” on a given evening:
The app, released last Friday, purports to help men pick up any one of 24 types of women, such as the “sorority girl,” “cougar,” “rebound girl” or “punk rock girl.” Users can choose the type of woman they …
