Matthew Littman Strikes Again…

Last night on The O’Reilly Factor, Matthew Littman struck again.
Readers may recall an article posted on The New Agenda about Littman’s previous appearance on July 24th on The O’Reilly Factor.
In that previous discussion between Littman, Reporter Amanda Carpenter and Gov Huckabee (filling in for O’Reilly), Littman stated:
I think Sarah Palin would be great on the Real Housewives of Wasilla…She comes across really as quite the character…but not a figure that should be taken seriously on the national stage…
Littman struck again on O’Reilly last night. Amanda Carpenter and Guest Host Laura Ingraham sat speechless as Littman, a former speech writer for Vice President Joseph Biden and so called Democratic Strategist and a resident of my beloved Southern California, raved on:
Littman said that he couldn’t take the former governor seriously, despite her active role in the health care discussion, because she wasn’t worth his time but that he would be glad to watch her when she was dating Flavor Fav on his (rather disgusting reality show- my words) reality show on VH1, which he expected to occur in the next few years.

Sadly his thoughts mirror those of many of my liberal friends.
Ingraham and Carpenter called him out on it very effectively, though. Hopefully other viewers can see that he really just exposed his own sexist ideas and belittled a woman who–like it or not–has something that many Americans want to hear.
In my article above , I did not mean to intimate that Laura and Amanda did nothing once he was done ranting, they did so very effectively( Laura is my favorite commentator on Radio) , they were stunned, in disbelief during his rant, I am ashamed for my city when creeps like him speak, LA is not all left coasters- Reagan was based in LA- but it seems like the media portrays our area as all lefties and he is the stereotype
As a father, I’d think it the ultimate failure of my responsibility if my sons grew up to become what Matt Littman is. He’s worked for Joe Biden, who I would assume, if he saw this man’s performance last night, was ashamed as well.
We wonder what’s wrong with our country? It’s that there are men like Matt, who become husbands and fathers and destroy everything they touch.
Perhaps others, like me, have been rethinking their entire political philosophy. What I see is conservative women coming across as lucid, articulate, and strong like Palin and Ingraham. What I see is a parade of liberal men who are snarky, puling, and weak, like Littman. As a Hillary supporter, I was appalled by sexist tactics used in the Democrat primary and they just seem to get worse and worse. I am concerned because I see nothing of ethical or moral value or even plain decency among men on the left these days.

I am a liberal who has tried more than once to defend Palin against sexist attacks. It didn’t matter if we disagreed with her, it was the principle of the matter. Sexism is wrong, so we shouldn’t use it as a tool. To be honest, my opinion on Palin has lessened since she made the “Obama death panel” remark. I am supporter of the President, she can disagree as can anyone with his ideas, but that remark insulted me. I support a public option and I supported the idea of including the right to receive voluntary counseling for end of life issues, I would like that for myself and my family. It hurt to think that those of us who supported this were being cast as people who want a death panel—it made me want to hide my opinions from others lest they think I actually believe in that.
but…sexism is wrong, period. If he doesn’t like her or her style and even feels the need to point out what he believes are character flaws, so be it. We do it to politicians on both sides. But the “real housewives” comment is sexist. It opens the door to allowing that kind of sexism to be acceptable. If Repubs called a female Democratic pol this, they would be called out on it. This should go both ways. Sexism shouldn’t be seen as something that is wrong only when it is happening to liberal women.
I was glad to see the ladies in the media fight him back on this. What a joke. The Democrats are going down the way wrong road with these misogynistic attacks on women. If they keep this up, even abortion can’t save them. I for one do not give two shits about abortion anymore because of how they have acted. I’m pro-choice and I love Palin, and I will vote for her every chance I get.
Mr Bartlett, too have two sons and agree with you whole heartedly- Monarch you mirror my political history and conclusions,Anna you are so correct, world traveler, your second paragraph should be the anthem of all reasonable people, thanks for bringing it to the forefront anew.
I am so glad that Laura Ingraham stuck it to Matthew Littman on O’reilly. His comment about Palin and Flavor of Love was so calas, and unprofessional, he should be embarrassed. He looked like a spoiled teenager being sassy to his parents….typical of the left….throw insults with no substantiation!!!
Gary:To me Laura is always treated as a second level player, but she is by far the best in my book, I’d like to see her get a show( I know it failed at MSNBC- but this is a new day)not just be O’reilly’s “permanent guest host”
I read a few topics. I respect your work and added blog to favorites.
