Women at Risk….Doing Something About it…

Yes – we hear you!

We know that your are angry and upset. Upset about the seemingly daily sexist attacks against our women leaders. Upset that a man can kill a group of women simply “because” they are women and the media seems to ignore it. Upset because the vicious and violent words against women and girls are used in everyday movies and music. And you write comments here or write to me directly to say:  I want to help!

handshuddleWell, we are doing something about it!

Starting Tuesday, on our one year anniversary, The New Agenda will formally accept members as a 501(c)(4) organization. We will embark on our journey of becoming a national organization with tens of thousands of members in the near-term, and hundreds of thousands in the future.

And in the coming year of our organization, our specific goal is to find very concrete steps and actions that our members can take to pitch in and help out. We know you are frustrated and feel silenced – we say no more!

So please, on Tuesday, visit us and spread the word to your friend, family and neighbors.  Please spend $35 to become a member – and in return, you have our pledge that we will give you a way to be involved.

And why do we need to do this?  Please read the excellent op-ed in The New York Times today by Bob Herbert titled Women at Risk. Thank you Bob for writing this important piece.

Here’s what Bob says about the gender based killing this past week in PA:

…there would have been thunderous outrage if someone had separated potential victims by race or religion and then shot, say, only the blacks, or only the whites, or only the Jews. But if you shoot only the girls or only the women — not so much of an uproar.

…We have become so accustomed to living in a society saturated with misogyny that the barbaric treatment of women and girls has come to be more or less expected.

Alarming? You bet. Here’s Bob’s summary:

Life in the United States is mind-bogglingly violent. But we should take particular notice of the staggering amounts of violence brought down on the nation’s women and girls each and every day for no other reason than who they are. They are attacked because they are female.

A girl or woman somewhere in the U.S. is sexually assaulted every couple of minutes or so. The number of seriously battered wives and girlfriends is far beyond the ability of any agency to count.

There were so many sexual attacks against women in the armed forces that the Defense Department had to revise its entire approach to the problem.

We would become much more sane, much healthier, as a society if we could bring ourselves to acknowledge that misogyny is a serious and pervasive problem, and that the twisted way so many men feel about women, combined with the absurdly easy availability of guns, is a toxic mix of the most tragic proportions.

So please join us as a member of The New Agenda on August 11th, the one year anniversary of our organization. We are committed to being a voice for all woman. We are committed to our principal goals: safety, opportunity, unity, and leadership.

I’m upset about a hell of a lot more than that. I’m upset about an entire gender that can be SO GODDAMNED STUPID as to throw its unworthy members to the rabid dogs, and then turn around all dewy-eyed and bubble-lipped in shock when the dogs finish up and turn their fangs on them.

Like that last article: I mean, it all depends!!!! Does Sandler’s fictional 11 year old daughter like Sarah Palin? Then it’s okay for him to talk about the disgusting scent of her revolting girl-pussy!

That’s what I’m upset about. I’m upset to learn right in front of my eyes, to see it illustrated so glaringly, in such an undeniable fashion, WHY WOMEN HAVE BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE GARBAGE for the past million years and for a million more. After one million years of being degraded, humiliated, slashed up, raped, and killed, yallz are still too fucking stupid to work it out.

I’m downloading a few things from Megaupload right now. The ads on that site are repulsive. Tits. Tits tits tits, and more tits. And not pictures of pretty women. Literally TITS. SOLID TITS, no inconvenient, worthless chick faces attached. Just the body parts.

I’m angry because the same fucking STUPID faux-feminist morons who cheered and laughed and went “yes but” when Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin got destroyed will whine and stamp their widdle footies over how repulsive that is … and never get the fucking clue that their endorsement of the sexual humiliation of ANY woman ANYWHERE is what’s made it all possible. And now, it’s going to get worse. Much, much worse.

GOSH, WHATEVER COULD HAVE CAUSED IT?!?!? How about electing an arrogant, spoiled shithead who flips off a female candidate for president in front of millions and doing nothing while his female opponents are SEXUALLY degraded nonstop for months and months and months and months and months …

    Naah. Can’t be that!

And on it goes, and on it will go, forever, until I, you, and every single one of our descendants is DEAD.

    THAT’S WHY I’M UPSET.

The future of New Agenda sounds very exciting. I like the vision. The picture with this article is great and I am glad to see it includes some hairy arms too. Patriarchy and the Misogynist status quo is the enemy not men. Oh and of course Corporate Media and the media people who conform to its values need to be put out of their misery.

Janis, there are a lot of stupid people in the world, unfortunately it seems to be Gods favorite model of human. But sadly half of the stupid people are female. The good news is these people usually have no political thought of their own and will follow the dominate philosophy (Obama’s sheepepole) or whomever markets to them the hardest. So all you have to do is turn the cultural tide and these frustratingly stupid people will follow the New Agenda. In the past feminists have made zero effort to market their philosophy, if this changes culture could change quickly. And Corporate Media could be put out of business with a simple change like Cable Choice, trust me Corporate media does not reflect the culture most people live in and if forced to live in a free market they would perish.
