Our development agenda will also focus on women as drivers of economic growth and social stability. Women have long comprised the majority of the world’s unhealthy, unschooled, and underfed. They are also the bulk of the world’s poor. The global recession has had a disproportionate effect on women and girls, which in turn has repercussions for families, communities, and even regions. Until women around the world are accorded their rights – and afforded the opportunities of education, health care, and gainful employment – global progress and prosperity will have its own glass ceiling.
Hillary Clinton – YOU GO GIRL!!!
How nice of Obama to allow Hillary her moment. Oh wait … no he didn’t. He held a health care cheerleading session in the Rose Garden at the same time as Hillary’s speech. This is what the Obama administration does when women try to assert themselves.
Looks like Obama gave Hillary the finger again.

I wrote a piece on what you describe that will go up at The Daily Beast later today.
I love what Hillary said, but in light of Obama’s upstaging her speech, her words ring hollow.

Imagine if we had Hillary for our President what this country could be. I am sick of all the snubs aimed at women and Hillary by the Obama administration who think they are dealing with women’s issues by issuing daily fashion bulletins regarding Michelle. I am not longer convinced that Republicans are the worst party for women and their issues. At least Republicans acknowledge what they are. Democrats are hypocrites and misogynists. We need a new political party and our corrupt government needs remodeling with a bulldozer not a fresh coat of pretty paint to hide all the uglys.
