It’s the Victim’s Fault.
Donny Deutsch sums it up in his angry, condescending tone:
She’s fair game.
How dare Governor Palin stick up for her teenage daughters!
Donny’s outrage starts the beginning of the next part of the media’s process: blaming the victim. This in my opinion is one of the gravest and most dangerous injustices coming from our national media. The way they seek to train and retrain our country that if a woman, or in the case a teenage girl, is the victim of almost anything, then defacto, it’s the victim’s fault.
As I wrote about …

Governor Palin defends her daughters..
Governor Palin must be reading The New Agenda Blog and our article published yesterday in The Huffington Post. Here’s what Governor Palin had to say on MSNBC’s Today show this morning (Letterman segment starts at 3:23, skip to 5:00 for this comment):
..it was a degrading comment about a young woman. And I would hope that people would really start rising up and deciding it’s not acceptable. No wonder young girls especially have such low self-esteem in America. When we think it’s funny for a so-called comedian …

WE’RE STILL HERE CBS!!!
WE’RE STILL HERE CBS….AND WE’RE NOT GOING AWAY!!!
We demand action! Our country deserves better than this. Our daughters will not be a target of David Lettman’s sexualization.
We have a request and we are going to keep making it, loud and clear, until you hear it. This is a teachable moment on the escalating crisis of the sexualization of our teenage daughters and the resulting violence against them. We demand that CBS devote a Letterman Show to opening a dialogue about this national crisis. And we are going to keep emailing …

Letterman – This is a “Teachable Moment.” Don’t Blow it!!!
This week, David Letterman has provided our country with the second major “teachable moment” to explore the national crisis of the sexualization of our teenage daughters. This is an important opportunity, and we must use it wisely.
Our country blew the first teachable moment earlier this year. When Chris Brown physically assaulted Rihanna, we should have finally educated ourselves on violence against our teenage girls, but we did not. See the video footage on our home page and you will hear about “The Next Generation” which is the crisis …

The New Agenda Speaks out in the Media about Letterman….
Word is spreading. Check out this piece in Reuters:
Writing on the news blog The Huffington Post, Amy Siskind, co-founder of women’s advocacy group The New Agenda, wrote that Letterman’s jokes about Willow should be cause for concern for conservatives and non-conservatives alike, and that some in the media apply a double-standard by not voicing concern about sexism applied to conservatives like Palin.
“… When Governor Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter is the subject of a degrading and humiliating joke by David Letterman, how can we let this be part of our …

The Other Side of Letterman: Why Women Don’t Run for Office…
Would you give $17 to get women above 17%. I’ll explain at the end. (Update: We are 53 donors away from reaching our goal)
Now many of us are outraged at Letterman’s comments about Governor Palin. Personally, I am even more outraged at his comments about the Governor’s 14 year-old daughter. Which brings me to another topic – why is women’s representation in our government so low?
For those of you new to our blog, one of The New Agenda’s main goals is leadership. Specifically, getting more women …

Letterman Doesn’t Stop. Contact These Sponsors!
Following his outrageous joke about Alex Rodiguez ”knocking up” Governor Palin’s 14-year-old daughter, Willow, David Letterman is at it again (hat tip to Puma for Life and conservatives4palin).
The toughest part of [Palin's] visit was keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter. That was the hard part.
The way I hear it, the man called a 14-year-old child a prostitute.
Many of our readers would like to protest Letterman’s disgusting slurs by contacting his sponsors. I don’t know what companies have been running advertisements during the last few shows, but I can tell you that the following companies currently have …
