Media Misogynist Fratboys: the New Cultural KKK

I do not particularly share Gov. Palin's political ideology. Yes, applauded her receiving the V-P nomination from a man brave enough to have made his party a pioneer--Sen.McCain. She appears to be competent, hard-working and her speech at her nomination was absolutely superbly felt and echoed far and wide.
I recall her intelligent commentary during an interview (I believe with Janet Napolitano as co-interviewee) immediately after her nomination. Her ability to negotiate the multi-billion-dollar TransCanada oil deal, her including gays in her Alaskan agenda and not overruling the pro-choice decision citing her "constitutional responsibility" to do so and not "inflict (my) personal opinion". All this makes me considerably angrier that she has been criticized by the media's obamyopic misogynist fratboys for.....protecting her mother's right to protest the disgustingly sexist, woman-hatred and child abuse contemplated by a sextogenarian joke of a perv who thinks it's "funny"! Don Imus got fired by NBC for his racist remarks. Why is Letterperv not getting the same just treatment by CBS? Are women still second-class citizens and their daughters' sexuality fair game by the male cultural KKK?

New Agenda, please keep asking "Where's the line"--and one fine day women of all political stripes will unite to form an indelible line of female cultural steel that spells "E-N-O-U-G-H". The most significant culture war has officially started. Fluffy Matthews, Herr Olbermann, buttEd, Venomous McCafferty (he called Hillary Clinton a "scolding Mother" as if this was an insult!) better be prepared for the fight that will leave them with permanent ink bruises--and hopefully on a pink slip!

I have raised the issue of misogyny with a Californian woman who also happens to be disabled. She is vocal about rights for people with a disability, and about racism, but strangely silent on misogyny. Go figure! She laughed at me when I said I thought Sarah Palin was the best candidate in the election. I calmly set her straight with the facts. If she felt chastised or even that I was right, she wasn't going to admit it. Or maybe she was just thinking that I must be mad and not with the program!

I would also like to say that I watched your Where's the line? video and some of the worst things I saw in it were directed at Michelle Obama and they made me sick, even though I don't particularly care for her. Thank you for setting the New Agenda!

Didn't Oprah usher in the new age of media understanding that victims of child abuse are not to blame and are not going to remain silent?

Well, now our schools tell us that victims of bullying will no longer be silent and speaking up is the right thing to do.

How do you think Willow feels about being called a whore? Letterman can not bully a child in our society and not have decent people speak out.

the very sad thing about all of this is that many liberal/progressive women are also falling over themselves to rationalize supporting Letterman and making political points against Palin...very disappointed in Tina Brown and many of the so called female democratic stategists that have given their opinions on TV...

...to many democrats taking too many cheap shots at the expense of girls...mothers and airline stewdardesses...

Thanks for posting the video "Where's The Line?" I had not seen it; I think you ought to post it at least once a week! I sent it on to a number of women friends, two of whom recently told me that they could not "recall" any mysogyny going on during the campaigns. I have not heard back yet. I note a certain amount of apathy among women, as if they have settled, that this is the way it is, and a lot of what is said on TV is either no big deal or free speech. And I'm talking here about well educated, intellectual women. In the meantime, I'm apoplectic and I'm being advised to take meds and calm down. Thanks to this organization, I don't feel alone. Keep pushing.
