As we have been discussing on our blog, there are many ways in which our teenage girls are sexualized – some overt, some covert.

Take for example the popular song by Britney Spears: If You Seek Amy. The title seems innocuous enough and to many the words may just seem confusing while they bee-bop to the tune of the song. But not our teenagers. They know what the secret message is that is being sent:

Love me hate me
Say what you want about me
But all of the boys and all of the girls are beggin’ to If You Seek Amy
Love me hate me
But can’t you see what I see
All of the boys and all of the girls are beggin’ to If You Seek Amy

Or…all of the boys and all of the girls are beggin’ to F-U-C-K-ME.

Here’s the YouTube with over 4 million hits (skip to 0:25 and listen at 0:50):

There’s nothing new about this. At least 50 per cent of the opposition towards feminism has always been that it wasn’t “sexy”. And at least 50 per cent of the drive towards a “new” feminism” has always sprung from a desire to make it “sexy”, with “fuck me, on my terms” its unofficial motto. Ultimately, the impetus is commercial. A woman’s value increases if she is active in the “entertainment” commodity market, which means if she is (a) prepared to spend vast amounts of money to make herself “sexy” and (b) prepared to then play along with traditional mating ritual games, generating yet more profit for those providing the services integral to such activities (including those pop culture products which promote the attitudes behind all this – in song, tv, film etc). Britney Spears is a good patriot keeping the economy afloat.

Oh, but I think this IS new. I mean the degree of the sexualization of YOUNG women. When I was in middle school years and years ago, it was cool to wear a Hello Kitty sweat suit to school. I mean the baggy kind with the cuffs at the bottom of the pants. Not so now….

If feminism isn’t sexy it is because feminism has allowed itself to be defined by others. For that matter female sexuality has been defined by men. Straight men have defined it in pornographic terms where female sexuality serves men and where women don’t even really have sexual feelings or the ability to enjoy sex. And gay men have defined female sexuality through their unattainable fashion directives. For the most part it worked because women did not have a media voice unless they were fronts for the male agenda and aped behavior considered appropriate by their male puppet masters. But now there is the internet. It is a great relatively cheap opportunity to develop a real women’s media. During this time where mentally incapacitated females like Brittany who are sexualized and sold by the Media companies have been the only examples of female “talent” many, many very talented intelligent young women who refused to be degraded in this manner never had the opportunity of an audience. Well the gatekeeping capacity of the media companies is breaking down. There is a perfect opportunity to develop a real women’s media now, but we must hurry before the old media figure out how to gatekeep and monopolize the new media and once again silence all real female participation. Of course as soon as they succeed in silencing women, 52% of the population, they will become just as irrelevant as the old media are now. Of course they will be too stupid to realize what their problem is.
