Member Update: A Letter from TNA President Amy Siskind

Dear Members:
On April 18th, The New Agenda’s Founders held a meeting to chart our course forward. Much has changed since we founded this organization in August 2008. The New Agenda is now an established organization with thousands of members in all 50 states. We have accomplished great things in our first eight months together.
And much has changed in our country since August. The election is past us. Folks are back to their everyday lives and are concerned about the tough economic times and our collective futures. But what lingers is a belief that women still do not have the rights nor the treatment that they deserve. The New Agenda is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in our country.
As devoted as this organization is to speaking out bravely and boldly for women and girls, we must take a brief pause in May. TNA is calling May our “Infrastructure Month.” We need to set up infrastructure as we grow from being thousands of members, to tens of thousand of members, and of course our ultimate goal to be an organization with hundreds of thousands of women and like minded men as members across the country.
During May, your organization has many tasks to be accomplished: some big, some small. We have sent out a RFP’s (requests for proposals) to five branding firms and will select a firm in the next two weeks. The premises on which our organization was founded will not change, but we will have a different look, new language and even (finally) a logo. In conjunction with our branding, you will see a major face lift for our website. We will be focusing on finalizing our paperwork to become a 501c3 and 501c4. We will be adding credit card capabilities. And finally, we are laying the groundwork for our organization’s first major fundraiser in June.
So during May, you might not hear us speaking out quite so loudly and frequently. And our blog pieces might be less numerous. And Ophelia will be taking a break to cure her acute pork rind addiction. But know that we are laying the groundwork to come out rearing to go and to fight for the rights of the women in this country.
What can you do to help? You can submit blog content to our Join Box. You can help us to spread the word by telling your friends, family and neighbors about TNA and the work we are doing. And of course, if you can, please do donate to our organization.
We fight on!!!
Amy Siskind
President

“We have accomplished great things in our first eight months together.” – that may be just a bit of an understatement, I think it is astounding what has been accomplished.
Quick comment: you have no goddamned IDEA how relieved I am to see this thing being treated like something that actually expects to achieve something instead of just a bitchfest.
I’ll admit, this has piqued my interest. I do not have the time to do more than watch (as millions breathe a sigh of relief) but I’ll keep a more attentive eye on you guys.
great news. extending the reach of The New Agenda far and wide. you go!
You guys have done a great job and I am proud to be a part ….here is a neat speech from Gov Palin about woman’s rights the msm as ignored
