Larry Summers gets punked!

|If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this video is worth $135,000 (or the money paid to Larry Summers for a single speaking engagement).
Recall that we wrote in our piece Larry Summers collects $8 million from Wall Street, we explained that part of that $2.7 million of that dough was earned for speaking engagements to Wall Street firms!
What makes matter worse is that the biggest fee, $135,000, was earned for a speaking engagement for Goldman Sachs. The New York Times recently reported:
Goldman Sachs was paid $14 billion for securities that had a market value of $8 billion, equating to a $6 billion windfall. Add that to the $10 billion Goldman already received from the government, and its total bailout jumps to $16 billion.
So is the public outrage merited? You betcha. Larry Summers should step down – or absent that, donate his $8 million in bonus money to a cause to advance women and girls in mathematics and science! We need it, right Larry?

Yes. That video is worth thousands of words. Especially all the clapping at the end.
Why was the woman holding the sign? I’d like to meet her!
Bravo to the people holding the sign and the clappers.
and thanks Amy for posting the numbers.
Terrific! A little creepy, though, as Larry Summers doesn’t appear particularly bothered .. .
There’s a great letter to the editor in this week’s Boston Sunday Globe titled, “Whistle-blower’s case calls Summers into question”
