So here are two thousand words, all about the state of gender equality in the 21st century. Both courtesy of Tennessee Guerilla Women:

The G20 Wives -- not husbands

The G20 Wives -- not husbands

Well, there are only two husbands anyway. Funny, that.

They let women in the room?

They let women in the room?

That’s Hillary at one of the G20 meetings — Hillary and a whole bunch of dudes. Wonder if she’s carrying her jar?*

*Jar: At an unnamed university several years ago, one female professor got so fed up with the sexism that at the next department meeting, she brought along a jar with a formaldehyde-preserved penis floating inside. When the meeting started, she put the jar on the table in front of her and said, “Okay, now I’ve got one too.”

HAHAHAHAHA – I want one of those jars! I could use it at work, where I am one of two women in my department of 19!

The media coverage surrounding the “G20 wives” has been beyond depressing; particularly the articles about Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy’s supposed “fashion face-off/catfight”. As I was skimming these ludicrous headlines, I couldn’t help but recall that both France and the U.S. recently had the opportunity to elect their first female president and in both cases the women candidates were stabbed in the back by members of their own political parties who ensured that yet another man was elected instead.

    Loved the jar anecdote, btw!

LOL, I vote for the New Agenda brand Penis in a Jar. I think it would be a big seller.

I am just wondering when they put the fashion headlines up do people really click on them? Because in the old days men just printed whatever suited them and called it “women’s content”, no one else had a voice, women didn’t read the male garbage “women’s content” and everything looked fine. But now, with the internet, it is clear what stories are clicked on and what are ignored and the fact that the media really have no idea how to appeal to women must be becoming very clear. Of course they still carry on with their charade but they are quickly going out of business and most women know why.

Hey wouldn’t it have been funny to see Bill Clinton with the spouse group (and of course Hillary with the heads of state)? Too bad the Democrats didn’t run a clean primary.

I love the juxtaposition b/w the two photos. They indeed tell a thousand words. If this was a formal photo may I ask why the First Lady is sleeveless? Seems a tad bit informal to me.

I’d definitely buy a jar btw.

One of the women is wearing what looks like a strapless cocktail dress. I’m not sure what the circumstances were surrounding the photo, but the range of clothing on display is a little confusing.

Sleevless is your issue? Who cares!? Geez. I ‘d be in gore tex. I’d certainly launder it. But that’s as far as the lady business goes with me.
