On Friday March 27th, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Republican Senior Senator from Texas Kay Bailey Hutchison joined forces to present Stories from the Top; Their Odyssey at the Women’s Museum in Dallas Texas.  This was the sixth annual event of it’s kind held at the Women’s Museum in honor of Women’s History Month.  Designed to feature women who have stories of success, failure, life lessons, and encouragement to share with young women, the event attracted more than 400 people at $175 per ticket.

The Dallas Morning News reported

The highlight of the 55-minute conversation occurred when Hutchison interrupted Clinton to weigh in on the former New York senator’s historic but unsuccessful presidential campaign last year.

“The most incredible thing I saw in you during this period was your ability to keep a happy face, a confident face, when you were getting so many disappointments,” Hutchison said.

Hutchison noted that Clinton was able to get over her loss and help Barack Obama win the White House.

“That character is why you’re secretary of state today,” she said.

It is a beautiful sight to see these two women working together in a non-partisan effort to have a positive influence on young women.

I also like both of them. what I do not like is the soaring applause after the sentence. “she got over her loss and put her heart into helping the president. That’s why she is SOS.”
that is the praise for stepping back and supporting the man.

Marille, I took the comment more as congratulating Hillary for getting over a devastating loss, dusting herself off, and moving on. I think it was meant more as a compliment to her strength than a reference to supporting Obama. That was how I took it anyway. Love them both!

Speaking about women helping women, I want to let you all know about a new blog called ‘in the Ladies Room’. ‘in the Ladies Room’ was created by Pamela Teagarden, an expert in the field of corporate behavioral psychology. Pam notes:

”I invite you all (even the men!) ‘in the ladies room’ – a blog that begins a conversation about women, at work and in life. You may find some ideas for your company; a little bit of mentoring or you may just notice the world a little differently. Each post will end in a question to keep the dialogue going with you. Please, if you like what you see, subscribe to the conversation and forward this to your friends. You are ALL … Welcome ‘in the Ladies Room’

Everyone, join us ‘in the ladies room’ – - career women, entrepreneurs, stay-at-home-moms, University students, and, yes, even men. Anyone interested in a conversation about the ways in which women can contribute to the world we live and work in will find interesting topics for discussion.”

Obama lacks political will to crack down on Wall street crooks. Be sure to read the comments.

Yes, but making women appear incapable of helping themselves is only half of it. It’s also talking about DECADES of Obama helping… o.O

I am appalled at that ad. Does Obama seriously think he can appeal to women by showing us we are not capable of helping ourselves??

Does anyone honestly believe Obama’s “Julia” story equals liberation for women? http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=51265

Strange, Romney’s Mormon family not polygamist BUT Obama’s father was polygamist. I didn’t realize!
