LISTEN: Chewing the Fat with Ophelia Monday at 10 pm EST.

CALL IN: (347) 324-5942.angry-woman

Ophelia has been busy gal lately hosting a string of wonderful guests including Peggy Klaus, Liz Falk and Dr. Bambi W. Gaddist. But frankly, all this “hosting” has Ophelia downright exhausted. I mean, c’mon, sometimes a girl just wants to come to work, let down her hair, and CHEW SOME FAT!

So by popular demand, this week Ophelia wants to hear from you, our members.

Ophelia knows that you are not all happy about the appointment of Valerie Jarrett. Ophelia had a bit of heartburn herself (or hers could have been caused by that 2 pound bag of sour cream potato chips after the pork rinds).

Ophelia knows how upset you are about violence against women and teenagers. How many cases do we need to see before we do something about it! And for goodness sake, why does Chris Brown look so damn smug.

So this week, let’s all bring our tea, coffee, soda, whiskey, wine or tequila and really chew some fat. I mean, c’mon gals – it’s at times like these that we all need some sisterly love.

Join us on Chewing the Fat with Ophelia on Monday from 10-11 p.m. EST.

Actually Jarrett and Tchen (who had some feminist cred in college) may be the best case of that Council.

I’m not sure whether Summers is on the Council, but if so, he has plenty of male company: Geithner, Holder…. I’ll have to look up the rest, but at last report Obama’s Cabinet was about 3/4 male. And they are all on Obama’s Council on Women — all Cabinet members are automatically on it. (Whether anyone else is on it, besides Jarrett and Tchen, has not been reported.)

“While the new council does not have Cabinet rank, the whole Cabinet, from the Secretary of Defense to the US Ambassador to the United Nations, is required to serve on it.” “The members are all Cabinet Secretaries and the heads of numerous federal agencies.” http://www.fem2pt0.com/?p=855

“[It] will include every Cabinet secretary and the head of every Cabinet-level agency.” Kim Gandy, NOW

Does anyone have a guess at to the gender ratio of “heads of numerous federal agencies”? And, thus, the overall gender ratio of the ta-da “Council on Women”?

Having Larry “Girl brains can’t do math” Summers on the Council on Women seems like it is a weird joke…

I don’t know the gender ratio exactly, but I did read somewhere that a Trans* woman has been selected for the council, which made me feel pretty good about it their commitment.

I’ll try to find where I read it.
