The New Agenda on Facebook: “become a fan” & spread the word
January 15, 2009
by Hughes
|We are excited to announce the creation of The New Agenda Facebook Page. Our Facebook Page provides a simple, powerful and fun way to interact with each other while automatically spreading the important message of The New Agenda.
As you may know, Facebook is an incredible outreach tool with viral potential. If you would like to help us reach that potential, all you have to do is follow these three steps:
1. Join Facebook and start “friending” as many people as soon as possible
2. Become a Fan of our Facebook Page.
3. Participate frequently on our Page via our discussion forum
Remember, the more Facebook friends you have and the more often you participate on the Page, the greater the outreach impact.
Your participation with the Page could direct your friends to our Page. Their participation in the Page could direct their friends, and so on, and so on.
So join us on Facebook and start digging up old high school and college friends. Find or meet new friends by participating in city, neighborhood, music or other common interest groups. It will be tons of fun! And when you participate on our Page, you get to spread the TNA message to boot!
To visit the Page now and “become a fan”, click here.
Thanks and see you on Facebook!

Good luck with Facebook. They booted Will Bowers without cause and eventually reinstated him upon complaints from many of us. Eventually, I was booted out without cause – although complaining about Will was my sole Facebook activity. The owner is a B0bot.
Still, my alter ego is a fan
Tangent here, but why are we always struggling to use communication sites run by … may I say Neo-libs? Huffington Post, Facebook, Youtube. For a while Lynn de Rothschild was looking for a new project and I posted at their forum suggesting she fund a centrist alternative to Huff Po. Maybe some of the founders could get through to her — or to someone — about this.
I was a member of the Hillary Clinton for President Facebook group. The group was plagued by troll attacks constantly, but Facebook claimed some features that our administrators needed to maintain order were “broken” and they couldn’t fix them because of the size of the group. The same features remained intact on the corresponding Obama group, even though it grew to 20 times the size, meaning that the administrators there could instantly silence anyone who dared hint that Obama might not be the Messiah. Facebook was also quick to ban anyone who openly criticized Obama, on any discussion board. My account was banned 3 times, but I fought to get it back.
I love Facebook. I tend not to get too edgy on it since I really use it to keep in touch with people. But I also have used it to post New Agenda articles. I like doing it this way – linking to an intelligent article that people can read if they like and I usually add on a simple comment. I did this with a lot of your Rick Warren articles. These articles were informative and bring up issues that most people I know can get behind. I will also join the “fan” group.
