For those of you asking: ”Yes – it is in the works.”
Since Governor Richardson has withdrawn his name for Secretary of Commerce, The New Agenda will be issuing a press release to propose and push for a list of qualified women candidates.
It has also not gone unnoticed that Colorado and Illinois recently filled their vacant senate seats with men.
Stay tuned….

LOL re: your first sentence!
Thanks for being on top of this and so many other things!!!
Oh, how thrilling! So glad to see Richardson in trouble after how he sucked up to Hillary and then threw her under the bus after he decided that Barack would be more profitable.
Now this seat has GOT to go to a woman!
I guess what goes around does come around!
Wonderful! Go for it!
OT heads up…. Here’s a chance to support Greta for supporting Palin — who certainly deserves support on this shocking insult from CNN.
Fox/Greta: What is with CNN [ re Palin ] – EASY POST
CNN put out a list of “falling from grace in 2008? and put Governor Palin on the list with (get ready!!) this group of men:
Senator John Edwards, Governor Elliott Spitzer… , Senator Ted Stevens convicted of crimes, …or how about Detroit Mayor Kilpatrick? convicted of felonies!!! and Governor Blago who is about to be indicted for alleging selling a Senate Seat that was occupied by our next President???
CNN thinks Governor Palin is like these guys? one of these guys? is that fair?
LET’S KEEP CNN HONEST…
EASY POST. Wants name but no password etc. Post went right up on top.
fsteele – Thanks for the heads up. I hope you send this action to info@thenewagenda.net so they might spread the word. Argh! I’m heading over to the link now!
Thank goodness for Greta. Women have so few advocates.
fsteele – I notice in your comments on Greta’s blog that there is no place on CNN to post comments?
Technical question. On my screen Anna’s and fsteele’s comments stretch behind the sidebar at the right and I cannot read them. Any wazy to fix this?
Amy, I left you a request on the Jan 1 blog – did you see it? Thanks
Oh, my post too is spread out at the right?
Must be my computer screen!
It’s something about the way html links are rendered in comments. I edited the link in fsteele’s post. It should be okay now.
Amy,
At the CNN site, http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITI.....index.html,
I found no place for comments except the following links, which appear when you click on “From the blogs”

CNN On Sarah Palin
Oh this is rich; CNN lists Sarah Palin as one of their 2008 corrupt and criminal politicians. WTF? CNN has absolutely lost their minds and heads need to roll. Here is the link , along with their lead-in: Politicians who fell from grace in 2008 Election year 2008 was career-buster for many politicians, whose crimes and misdemeanors – or someti…

Carville sex-scandal prediction worrisome
J ames Carville waxes ominous in a curious column at CNN.com, hinting at yet-to-be revealed sex scandals in the Democratic camp. That kind of unseemly nonsense took a terrible toll on Bill Clinton’s presidency and the whole country back in the ’90’s; it’s the last thing Democrats trying to govern and the whole country need now. Unfortunat…

Time to Rumble with CNN; They Lump Palin with Criminals
CNN Places Sarah Palin With 2008’s Criminals, Sex Addicts, and the Corrupt By Warner Todd Huston January 4, 2009 – 07:06 ET Showing they have no sense of morality, no grasp of corruption and no understanding of what defines a criminal, CNN gives us another one of those ubiquitous year in review stories, this one titled “Politicians who fell f…

Thanks, Sheryl. I just posted a long reply to Amy, which is “in moderation.” On my first post, “Heads up”, the link has disappeared!
It’s still there – I just put it under the “LET’S KEEP CNN HONEST” text.
It seems that the only people who were vetted to join the BO Adm.were none other than Hillary and Bill, everyone else was OK. What a mockery the democrats are making of all of these insidents. They cannot blame the republicans. Democrats just keep shooting themselves in the foot. They cannot handle anything.
It is interesting since I’m viewing all this from a different perch. I can see so much more clearly now. I can honestly say I’m ashamed of the Democratic Party. It will take some time before I can recover ………………..in the meantime I’m alert, constantly informed and staying on top of daily events, thanks to blogs like yours and others.
Thanks, Sheryl.
The text does show up as a link when I hover the cursor over it (in Chrome and in Opera).
Ah, you’re a mac user. Me, too.
Sheryl – thanks -it is better now
Lili,
We are not ready yet to make all the Founders and/or Board public. If one was TRULY interested, you could read through the press releases and pick through quite a few from quotes. As well from our blog pieces.
At some point we will go public with this. At this point, the majority of Founders felt that is was better to leave the press and public guessing. Once we are out, we are out!
The CNN article is excruciatingly angering. It is amazing that still after the election, they cannot seem to stop bashing Sarah Palin. They are obviously afraid of her. They don’t want to see her around in 2012 getting in the way of the new democrats plan to get the evangelical christian vote. Well, the more they bash her, the more I dig in my heels in supporting her!
Here’s a small action you can take against misogyny if you are on Facebook. I was searching for a group that supports Condoleezza Rice group. I did find many but I also found a dusgusting group called “I’d tap Condoleezza Rice.” It is classified as type: common interest-sexuality” with the description “Be honest with yourself. She doesn’t look all that bad.” I find this blatantly misogynist and offensive. I reported them to Facebook. If you are on Facebook, find this group and go to the bottom left of the page and click the “Report Group” link. Facebook says “All reports are strictly confidential” so you don’t have to worry about the group knowing who reported them. The group only has 29 members but it is one small step we can take to combat misogyny. Also, I don’t think it would hurt our cause for Facebook to receive a few messages condemning misogyny. Thanks!
The removal of Richardson presents an opportunity not only to place a women in the spot but also to examine how Obama’s Women Agenda will impact women http://change.gov/agenda/women_agenda/
It’s hard to find CNN contact information to protest CNN’s inclusion of Governor Palin with the rogue gallery. From their website:
CNN

Phone: 404-827-1500
Fax: 404-827-1906

CNN.com executives: http://www.cnn.com/about/dotcom_executives.html
However, I found the following website which looks quite interesting and a good resource for media contact information. You can search for media contacts here: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dbq/media/
Here is the CNN contact information from the same site: http://www.congress.org/congre.....rg_id=3187
CNN is definitely wrong in including Palin in its Rogue gallery over clothing purchases, shameful in fact.
It interesting, however, how a meaningful discussion cannot get started on what is right, what is wrong and how Obama will be held accountable to his Women’s Agend http://change.gov/agenda/women_agenda/
HRC and Sarah Palin will be fine, HRC is SoS, Palin signed a hugh deal to write a book, etc.
The concept of having a woman as Secretary of Commerce is not that far off the mark. It’s what that person brings to this office that counts. This is one of the most pivotal jobs on the President’s Cabinet especially at this time of the worst economic crisis since The Great Depression. It’s not gender that dictates who should take over this all-important post. Our nation’s economy is greatly dependent on whoever is placed in this extraordinarily important office. Although I am a man and I could certainly see someone like Sarah Palin (Yes! The office is that important!) doing a fine job once she gets on board. She could do magic with the job, but we should not wait that long for “on the job training”. Diane Feinstein, if she would take the job, would be fine also. But we need solid experience and a strong executive who already knows the industrial complex and has the ability to bring back all of the outsourced jobs that the corporate greed experts scuttled over the past 25 years. So (and I hope you will really print this) we need a powerful man person of commanding stature who is completely knowledgeable and is a powerful authoritative communicator to do this job. If I am in the wrong gender in this particular matter, listen, ladies, sometimes it takes a person who, regardless of his/her sex, to do a job of this complexity and magnitude, ready to hit the ground running.
Admitting that behind every great man, there is often a greater woman, my rationale for a male to serve as Secretary of Commerce at this time of economic disaster is as follows:
The selection of a Secretary of Commerce is not to be taken lightly (although it has apparently been too often used as a Popularity Contest for those on Administration A Lists). One of the reasons, but hardly not the only one, is this: The main function of the Department of Commerce is to foster, promote and develop the foreign and domestic commerce of the United States. Just how wide and deep is the breadth of its powers? It’s one of the most critical of all of the functions that comes directly under the Office of the President. And, as we all well better know right now, it’s purpose is to make our economy strong and keep our country prosperous and in a major sense allows our citizens to attain and enjoy the fruits of The American Dream. We could make all this happen if that office was functioning ideally, In our present economic dilemma, it’s time to think about how did we end up in this shambles of financial disaster and see its connection with the Department of Commerce? First and foremost, we must wake up to the fact that Commerce has historically been the lifeblood of our economy and our country.
What happens when a Secretary of Commerce incumbent falls far short of his obligations to his Department’s mission? Just one example of such neglect is corporate profiteering in the form of foreign outsourcing of jobs and closure of American manufacturing facilities. That started in the 1980s and still keeps eating away at our economy. That was a monster at the gate that costs billions of dollars yearly and keeps growing worse. We can slay that monster by taking the office of Secretary of Commerce very seriously. Now is the time to do it with Governor Richardson declining to accept the appointment. It’s still a vacancy on the Obama agenda if this message reaches him in time. It is essential the job needs to be filled by an outstanding man of vision and a sensational track record of getting difficult things done right and expeditiously. The new Secretary of Commerce must bring back as much as possible of those industrial and commercial resources that have been handed over the last 25 years to foreign countries. Let these job opportunities come back and be performed within our own borders.
Who should be appointed is critical to allow this miracle to happen. I hereby suggest that strong consideration of the following individuals who have the creative and aggressive drive and the proven dedication necessary to make things happen to bring back this industrial revitalization that used to be our bread and butter. We must hot only put an end to foreign outsourcing but make it closely subject to federal oversight and viable regulation. My personal nominees for the office of Secretary of Commerce are: 1. General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, 2. Jack Welch, 3. John Glenn, 5. Lee Iacocca, 6. Al Gore or 7. Warren Beatty. No particular order.
