The official Jon Favreau stocking stuffer?

|SantaFeK wonders if New York/Around Town is in a city where nothing happens, and nothing is to be seen, nor any good products to be found, and complete vapidity of reporting. Otherwise, why would this mag. write an article about a Secretary-of-State nutcracker as a deal? Since this is a year-old product, what’s in it for Ms. Elizabeth Bougerol, the “author” of this…er..”article,” other than to shill for Overstock?

Deal of the Day: Hillary Clinton NutcrackerCommemorate our departing Senator — and crack your holiday nuts — with this handy gem
The Hillary Clinton nutcracker makes the perfect gift.
Chin up, New York! We may be losing one of the most high-profile senators we’ve ever had to the transition team, but we can still have Hillary Clinton around this holiday season (and beyond) thanks to this fun little bauble. The Hillary Clinton nutcracker ($27.99) comes dressed in a snazzy — dare we say presidential – pantsuit, and boasts “stainless steel thighs” guaranteed to “crack toughest nuts.” Also great on lobster and crab claws!
The Senator is available at Overstock.com for $27.99 plus shipping. You can order the item as a set with the Bill Clinton corkscrew for $49.99, but somehow, that’s just less fun.

It’s easy and anonymous. So far, the comments are good.
Jon Favreau will continue to do what he is good and talented at and that is working with President Elect Barack Obama on superb speeches!
John, I don’t understand why Favreau is still employed by Obama. If Favreau was working in any corporation, and posted pictures of himself gleefully groping the image of a female colleague, he would lose his job. It’s sexual harassment.
The jubilant portrayal of sexual assault by Favreau should immediately result in his removal from his position in the new administration. How would you feel if this was your mother, sister, Michelle Obama, Obama’s daughters or others? It’s just plain wrong.
Obama promised hope and change. I would assume this includes the obvious: sexism, disregard and disrespect will not be tolerated in an Obama administration.
Nothing like a little humor from John B Sheffield.
Kiuku,
I couldn’t help but laugh to. Not even worth addressing.
I can’t believe anyone would think the Nutcracker is funny but I know some people who would. I’m working on them though. If it wouldn’t be funny if it were Sarah Palin then it isn’t funny when it’s Hillary and vise-versa. It’s really that simple.
Yea Thia!
“You can order the item as a set with the Bill Clinton corkscrew for $49.99, but somehow, that’s just less fun.”
Gee I wonder why?
I hope if Lynette ever gets her group together, they will consider things like:
Have a life-sized cardboard cut out of Michelle Obama with two guys groping her and see how the Obama administration responds.
Create some sort of holiday stocking stuff based on, oh, I don’t know, Obama’s ears and see how well that goes over.
HOWEVER, I generally don’t like to stoop to such actions as, in my heart of hearts, I feel they’re just dumb. BUT, it is a way to test for double standard treatment by the administration and the media. Could be conducted like science!
ER, thanks for the link (as always – you are so on top of that!). Will post when I get back from my walk – gotta make sure my bones don’t crumble to bits in the coming years. Ugh.
Well I guess I am the only woman who considers herself a feminist who loves the Hillary nutcracker. It says so much more about the men in politics and the media than it does about women or Hillary. Yeah dudes, we are going to take our rightful place in government and politics and there is going to be some nut cracking going on! Actually we in Seattle are planning roving hordes of female gangs who rampage and castrate any man who gets too close or talks to loud! Watch it dudes!
Grrr, my post over there lost its formatting upon submission. Oh well, here it is with spaces included:

The Problem
Women in the United States have a long way to go In terms of political empowerment. We are massively under-represented in all branches and levels of government. Out of 130 countries our nation ranks at number 56.
Yes, you read correctly, 55 countries surpass the US. This is an embarrassing ranking. From Hillary Clinton nutcrackers to Sarah Palin sex-dolls. From ball-busting b-word to dumb c-word. Our culture needs consciousness-raising and conscience-raising. We can be better than this.
The Solution
Rise to action. Insist upon the fair treatment of female candidates seeking political office. Challenge the bigotry and bully-boy tactics that undermine our collective advancement.
Join together with other women-supporting women (and women-friendly men) at The New Agenda. We are a non-partisan organization that is agreeing to disagree on the divisive issue of abortion. In so doing we are free to focus on our shared goals..

I’m enjoying watching America prepare to install a president who is, once again, going stride out onto the world stage with toilet paper trailing from his jackboots. The only thing that’s changed is the color of his skin.
