Oh, wow, I was going to suggest Dr. Randall Forsberg but see that she died last year at age 64. How awful….does anyone know what she died of?
She fought against nuclear proliferation her whole life, and she ran a write-in campaign against John Kerry.
Randall Forsberg, campaigner against nuclear weapons, was born on July 23, 1943. She died of cancer on October 19, 2007, aged 64.
From the Times OnLine article
I know Samantha Power (“Hillary is a monster”) will have spot in foreign policy.Ugh.
Excellent article in Washington Post. I’m very proud to be a member of The New Agenda.
Action alert completed!
Thanks, TheOtherDelphyne. The obits I found kept not mentioning that.
I haven’t received my action-alert yet….has it been mailed out?
Already got my notice & emailed (though I’m not holding my breath). I am also very excited to be part of this. We need to find a qualified woman who is willing to run Indy in 2012 & start building our coalition NOW.
The link below provides a summary on Lawrence Summers… he basically said men are involved with math and science at a higher % than women because of genetic abilities. There is a link to his remarks in the post.

A while ago, I did a count on the wikipedia page for Bush’s and Clinton’s cabinet appointments during their presidencies. I forget the exact numbers, but Clinton appointed a record (though still piddling) number of women, and Bush exceeded what Clinton did.
Will Obama do better than Bush?
Angela Davis for Secretary of Defense
Director of the National Science Foundation:
Alice Agogino, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at UC-Berkeley, Co-author of “Beyond Bias and Barriers: Fulfilling the Potential of Women in Academia”
